I killed us

We cross paths,

After long time.

I look into your eyes,

You look into mine,

But in those seconds few,

You were searching,

Maybe answers,

Maybe warmth,

Maybe love.

Then you remembered,

I broke us,

I wasted away,

When I should have been with you,

I took us for granted.

That we are no more.

And your gaze went pale,

Then it smiled over some other guy.

In those seconds few,

I also searched in your blues,

For anger,

For forgiveness,

For love.

But, I just found a stranger,

Who I knew very well.

Then I remembered,

I killed us.

That I din't even ask,

You to stay.

But, you gazed away,

I realised that I will forever regret,

That we are no more,

 As you walked away.
