I could see,
Dreams washing away,
In your tears.
I could see,
Hope wearing off,
In the crease of sorrow over your lips.
I could see,
Thoughts of loneliness,
Worn by your mind.
It stirred me,
It urged me,
Even when I had let you go,
When you didn't return my love the same way.
I couldn't stop,
I couldn't see you breaking apart,
Even with all the things you said,
I didn't want you to feel pain.
So, I went by,
Sat besides you,
And you,
Held my hand,
And tipped your head over my shoulders,
And cried.
