Chapter 23: Something New

Kola's POV

Carlos, Halia, Blue, Rose and I were all sitting in the living room. My mother was out with some friends, still trying to calm down from the whole situation with my brother. "So you don't think there's any chance Keo is the father?" Blue asked. "No, it just doesn't add up." Rose answered. "Why doesn't it?" Carlos wondered.

"If I got pregnant around the time the doctors estimated, then it would be someone after Keo" Rose explained. "What do you mean someone after him?" Halia questioned. Rose shouted out of annoyance. "Are you still going to at least test to see if it's Keo's?" Blue asked. "Ugh why? You know what fine whatever! But I think it's Jamals." Rose explained.

"Ew, Jamal? From our school? You fucked him? I heard his pull out game was weak!" Halia shouted, making everyone except for Rose laugh."My point exactly and it's not funny." Rose glared at us. "How did you not guess you were pregnant though? At least from missing your period." Halia asked. "I've missed my period a few times before and I wasn't pregnant." Rose shrugged.

"Anyways, do you know when your brother is coming back to school?" Blue turned to me. "Yea um...he's not coming back." I answered. "Why?" Blue gasped. "I don't know. He said our dad was thinking about putting him in another school. But he might visit for our graduation." I explained. "Yay." Carlos sarcastically cheered. "Wait, you still don't like him?" Blue laughed at Carlos.

"I tried to, but he still was throwing shots at me. So no, I don't." Carlos explained. "What if you and Kola get married? You'll be brother in laws." Halia said. "Don't remind me." Carlos sighed. "Fine, but let's talk about Rose turning 18 in a few hours...how do you feel?" Halia attempted to lighten the mood. "Hungry and tired." Rose answered. "Are you really always hungry?" I asked out of curiosity.

"It depends, some days I am and some days I'm not. It really depends on the person." Rose answered. "So, you're not gonna go to college?" Halia asked. "I mean I could, but I'll eventually have to drop out once I have the baby." Rose sighed. "Oh." Halia nodded. "I'm thinking about waiting until the baby's one to go to college." Rose continued. "I think that makes sense." Blue responded.

I waved bye to Halia, Blue and Rose. Then out of nowhere, Carlos shut the front door. "Why'd you do that?" I asked Carlos as I turned around to face him. "Because you've been saying bye to them for unnecessary minutes." he answered. "That's not true." I stated. "Yes it is Kola. Yes it is" he said walking closer to me.

"What do you want? Get away!" I giggled as he kept walking closer every time I would step back. "Why?" he asked, fake pouting. "Because..." I sighed. "Because what?" he finally had me against the wall. His hands gently traveled my body. Carlos began kissing me but I slowly pulled away.
