I quietly sucked in a deep breath as I stood outside Sunghoon's office, it couldn't be more than ten minutes since he came home for the company and yet he didn't even hesitate to wander right up to his office.

Once I had gathered enough courage, a thing I had to do from the experience of working here, I knocked on the door, only earning a hum in return.

As I opened the door and peeked in Sunghoon just sat bent over some papers with a frown on his face, his white dress shirt rolled up to his elbows as he sat with a pen in his hands.

"I suggest you make it quick Assistant Kim," Sunghoon monotonely questioned, it somehow seemed like a Deja Vu to me. It reminded me too much of when I was working under him.

"Uhm... I just wanted to know if you had a printer," I excused making Sunghoon freeze in his spot before snapping his head up to look at me, a puzzled expression on his face.

"Why did you knock?" he questioned as a frown grew deep on his face.

"To ensure I didn't interrupt," I excused with a shrug.

"Alright... but you don't have to knock," he reminded with what sounded like a small laugh, "no matter what or when you don't interrupt, alright?"

"Oh... okay," I slowly nodded, "so uhm... a printer?"

"What do you need it for?" he questioned, signing a paper and laying it to the side.

"Printing a job application," I replied and he just snapped his head up to look at me again, "I need something to do. I'm not gonna be a house-mom or whatever."

"You can just work at the company... I mean... I am the CEO and you were quite a good secretary," he offered and I let out a small snort.

"Okay... one, Jake is no doubt a wonderful secretary, and I seriously hope you took time to get to know him. Two, I am not gonna get a job just because the CEO supposedly is head over heels for me. Nuh uh, not happening," I stated as a small smile spread on his face and a small laugh escaped him.

"Ask assistant Kim and he'll show you how to use it," he hummed, "but Sieun... I thought you wanted to study to be an architect."

"Well, it just so happens I need money to pay univeristy tuition," I reminded with a small smirk, "and to get money I have to work. So maybe... maybe next year," I excuses and hugged the old laptop I had bought on some shady market a few months ago, close to my chest.

"You know... I can just pay for it and then we say you'll pay it back once you've finished your degree," he offered and I squinted my eyes at him, "I am not trying to do anything... I just... I want you to do something that you like and not go around sweeping floors for some jerk ass CEO."

"Did you... did you just describe yourself?" I questioned him and he pursed his lips with a small huff.

"I did," he nodded, "but will you just consider my offer?"

"I'll... I'll think about it," I nodded at him before my eyes fell on a bookshelf with a lot of... may I say pink and red books, "is this what I think it is?" I snickered as I walked over to the bookshelf and looked across the titles, "your little 'how to love and not be an asshole to the one you think you love' guide."

"I don't think I'm in love," Sunghoon remarked and I glanced over my shoulder at him, "I know it. But I know my problem is that I have manipulative behavior learned from my dad and his business tactics, and that is what those books are for."

"You know..." I started as I turned to look at him again, "you've changed, haven't you? Had this been two years ago I would've been shooed away from that bookshelf and gotten some other mean comment."

"I'm trying," he nodded, "it doesn't fall natural to me to do this, but if I know... I know that I'm supposed to be like this and I want to be like this deep down, it's just a barrier that keeps it in, I guess."

"And you just have to break it down," I stated to which he quietly nodded, "do you know where assistant Kim is?"

"I sent him to water the plants in the greenhouse an hour ago," Sunghoon excused and I quietly nodded before walking over to exit the office, "and Sieun?" he called out, making me hum and turn back to him, "let's have a dinner tonight, together. I'll cook."

"If we survive you in a kitchen then I'm on," I hummed at him a small laugh escaping him, "but no ramen.

"Alright, alright. If we survive and I don't make any ramen," he noted to which I nodded in agreement, "and one last thing... please... if I ever show any signs of that manipulative business side towards you, don't hesitate to scold me and put me in my place. Please."

"Oh with pleasure," I assured him, "Nothing would make me more happy."

Sunghoon snickered at my remark before I walked out of the office and set on my way down towards the greenhouse to get Sunoo to help me print out my job applications. I couldn't help but let a small smile spread on my face, so far Sunghoon really seems to want to make up for his failures in the past.

All those red flags he had before might actually begin turning into green flags.
