Opening Heart Part I

SPLATTER

He chokes back blood, desperate to breathe.

My fists are bloodied, knuckles scrapped.

Looking down at him, I don't feel any pity.

I feel a soothing warmth in my chest.

Because for once, I wasn't the one in pain.

I smile down at him, before raising my fist.

Then--

CRACK

                *                 *                  *

???: "You asleep, bro?"

My eyes shoot open and I grumble out.

Me: "No, I just have my eyes closed and a blanket on me for the hell of it."

I rub my eyes and with a yawn, I look at who was at the door.

Oh, it's Chris.

Chris: "Yeah, dumb question."

I smile and wave my hand.

Me: "What's up?"

He gestured to the stairs.

Chris: "Arthur is home, and he said he was too tired to make food."

Can't say I didn't expect that.

I sigh.

Me: "Alright I'll see what I can do."

Chris pulled out a piece of paper.

Chris: "He said to buy some ramen from this shop."

Chris walked inside my room and handed me the paper, it had an address scribbled on it.

Me: "You hungry right now?"

He nodded.

Me: "Okay, go find the car keys while I get ready."

He hummed sharply, as he walked out of my room.

Well, at least it was one of the easier nightmares.

I got off my bed and headed to the restroom.

I turn on the faucet and slap some water on my face.

I avoided looking at the mirror as I dried my face.

Alright time to head out.

I open the bathroom door as Chris came back with the keys.

He notices me and tosses the keys at me.

I catch and nod my head.

Me: "Wanna come with?"

He thought for a moment before shaking his head.

Chris: "Not really, I promised I'd play with someone I met at school."

I silently nodded as he walked out of the doorway.

Akali PoV

I stayed up, unable to sleep due to my stomach grumbling.

I'm so fucking hungry.

I toss my blanket off me in frustration.

Fuck it, I've got some money left.
