Things cooled down.
I and Y/n rested on the gym bench.
As he wiped away the blood I try to open up a conversation with him.
"I've been wondering..."
I squeeze his arm.
"Why did you decide to give the fox away to Eve?"
He smiled.
"We named the fox."
I look at him in surprise.
"When?"
He leaned on my side.
"A little bit before she left."
His smile widened.
"We named her Riki."
That means...
"It means strength in Ionia. I thought it fit, so that's her name."
That's cute.
"As for the reason, I thought she'd take better care of the gal than I could."
I rested my head on his shoulder.
"That's quite the responsibility."
He chuckled.
"She's the one who wanted her."
His arm snaked around my waist.
"That's a shame... I was hoping to play with her."
It feels like...
In another life...
I'd love that little fox to death.
"Sorry to disappoint."
He sighed as he stood up, pulling me along with him.
"Are you ready for another round of boxing?"
I don't want him to push himself.
I shook my head.
"Let's head home, I'm starving."
He seemed hesitant but agreed.
"Home it is then."
Chris PoV
"Yup, and that's how I fought off four seniors."
Annie laughed and held my hands.
"You are so brave Chris."
Her fingers locked with mine, and our eyes met for a moment.
The feeling of tension arose as we continued to gaze into each other. Like we learned everything in the universe simply by looking into each other's eyes and now we had to deal with the knowledge.
The sun began to set, as had our date.
As we agreed, we would decide if we would stay together once the sun went down.
