Kai'sa PoV

I detach from Y/n and approach Akali.

"It's not what it looks like!"

She cocks her head to the side while placing a hand on her hips.

"It looks to me like you're kissing Y/n, or am I mistaken?"

I freeze up, choking on my words as I try to come up with a response.

I look back toward Y/n, who looked empty-minded himself.

He won't be of any help—

"It's fine, I knew you liked him."

She purses her lips and with a sigh turns around.

"You two are made for each other."

She chuckled before turning around with a grin.

"I'm happy for the two of ya."

Groaning in frustration and guilt, I try to plead with her once more.

"It was a mistake Akali, we aren't like that okay, I'm sorry for kissing Y/n."

I bow to her as she approached with a relaxed demeanor.

"It will never happen again..."

I felt a light pat on my shoulder.

"Let's be real Kai'sa, me and Y/n were never bound to last, especially the way we both are now."

She lifts my face.

"We were just using each other to get over old exes and failed crushes."

Y/n chimed in.

"It's not like that Akali, I do care about you, and... well, when we kissed it felt good, it felt like the natural order."

She scoffed.

"Don't bring that up now."

Y/n clasps his hands before speaking.

"Listen, it's late alright, we're all tired and we're thinking things that shouldn't be thought of. Let's all head home and talk about this tomorrow... okay?"

Akali leans forward and addresses Y/n with an eyebrow raised.

"You didn't look tired when you and Kai'sa made out."

She smiles as she backs up and walks away.

Glancing at Y/n, I notice how deflated he looks.

Guilt creeps up, this is my fault.

I'm sorry Y/n.

I fucked up everything for you.

I reach out to Y/n, rubbing his shoulder gently.

"Let me talk to her... I can fix this..."

He shook his head.

"I don't think this can be fixed, Bokkie."

His eyes saddened, and his smile ruined, he looked about ready to give up.

"I promise, I'll fix this."

The cold air breezes by as I move stray hair out of my face. Even with the giant hoodie, it was cold. Even so, I press on to find Akali.

I glance around the area, trying to spot Akali through the darkness. Luckily, I manage to catch a glimpse of her leaning on Y/n's car.

I take a shaky breath and push through the cold to get to her.

Walking down the stairs, she sees me.
