You know that old saying right?

'Revenge is best served cold'

That very line that has kept me going, given my dead soul another purpose to live

You know what though? I'll take this saying a step further, because this revenge isn't just a normal revenge.

This revenge started 3 years ago, and i have resurrected from the dead to put it in action, and finally give my dad his long awaited peace

Confused? Let me give you a detailed recap

Grab a snack of your choice, and sit yourself down on a comfortable seat, because this mystery is going to be a long one.

Lyra's POV

"Lyra" Dad called me over, as everyone gathered around

The smiling faces, the hearty laughs- everything about today was as perfect as anything

"We're ready" he said as i stood beside him, and the entire family smiled

The flashes went off and off, as i tried to keep my smile

After a few seconds, everything went back to normal- even my vision

"I'm so happy today" Dad said as i looked at him, the proud smile on his face enough to make my heart melt

"I can't believe all my hard work is finally paid off, I've established myself as a person and a leader" he said

"You deserve it all, and more" i said holding his hand

Together, we went to greet our guests- most of whom i knew

As i turned my eyes away from my dad, i met some eyes from the crowd

Marco Valentino

Victoria Todorov

Gabriel Gustavo

All the important faces of the underworld. People who were feared yet admired by the nation

These people were here, for my dad, to congratulate him

What could be more beautiful than that right?

Present
"I was wrong" i chuckled

"Sorry to steal the moment, but there was nothing right about it"

"It was all wrong. Nothing about it was beautiful" i said faintly, as i regained my memory

"If only i had known it that day, i would not be sitting here" i said, a small smile on my face

"But then again, it wouldn't be fun would it? I wouldn't be able to see anyone's true colors" i said leaning forward on the table

"Because what i saw back then, was worth more than anything. I saw my own dad die in front of my eyes" my voice shivered a little at this part, and i gave myself a break

"and while i expected his so called friends to help him, they all stood there with their smirks" i said swallowing the lump in my throat

As i admired my father and his friends, a feeling came over me

My dad was obviously happy to find friends like them, people who supported him throughout

Even though they were all big names, they didn't back down from helping one another and that was what i liked about this world

As i saw them having a good and cheerful talk, i walked into the garden

Out of the corner of my eye, i felt something move in the bushes

'Its probably an insect' my brain told me, telling me not to bother

I didn't give it another thought and walked away

As the party finally came to an end, the crowd around me started to lighten

More and more people said their goodbyes, until finally

Only my dad's closest friends were at the mansion

"I think its time to call it a night" i said and my dad looked at me, then his friends

"How about one last drink?" Victoria suddenly said, and just something about her tone made me feel odd

"Sure, I'd like one too" Marco said next and i nodded

"I'll go grab one" i said as the mafia bosses took a seat

I went to the cellar, and took my time to grab the finest wine

I was heading back slowly, when i heard the loudest yell from somewhere around the foyer

"Ahhhh" someone said and i almost dropped the bottle

"Lyra" it was my dad, i realized and ran outside

As soon as i got there, my vision was met with blood

Lots of blood, and all was his

"Dad" i muttered, as tears welled up in my eyes

He was alone, laying on the ground trying to gasp for air

"Who did this?" I asked as i instantly went on my knees beside him

"Vic" he tried to say, but the words didn't come out of his mouth

"Tell me dad, WHO DID THIS?" I said impatiently as my dad lost the last of his life

"Gab" he said, but the full word never came out of his mouth

And just like that, the happiest moment of my life became the most miserable one

With my dad on my lap, and blood pouring out of his body like crazy

I couldn't do anything, my body didn't want me to- it was too shook

The blood lasted for a few seconds, and then

His soul finally escaped his body, and left the world of the living.
