Chapter 10-Enemies

Lyra's POV
"Weren't you supposed to be dead?" He asked me and i blinked

Shit. What do i do now.

"Uh" i tried forming explanations in my head as he blankly looked at me

"A dead mafia daughter whose back for revenge. Such a classic" Arthur let out a low whistle and my throat went dry

"How-"

"How do I know? Well i might have overheard you and Melissa, and just so you know- i know everything that she does" he said

"Or maybe even more" he leaned closer and smirked, trying to get to me

He walked away from me, further into the room as i tried to sort out my thoughts

"So you know everything don't you?" I finally said and he turned around

"I believe yes" he said and i slowly walked to him

"Well then it wouldn't be hard would it?" I said leaning closer

"To do what?" He said

"To get rid of you" i said softly and he stared at me

"I'm willing to do that. This revenge is everything i have wanted for the last 3 years- and if you think you can pave your way into blackmailing me then let me tell you, you're wrong" i said to him and by now- our lips were inches apart

"You can try and open your mouth but i will make sure that i shoot a bullet through your head before that" i said to him, my voice as dark and deep as a sea

Arthur was clearly stunned as he didn't speak

I waited for a few seconds, but he didn't even move

And then finally, he cleared his throat

"You've got some guts Lyra. I must say" he said smiling

"Its a good thing you know that, I'm willing to remove anything or anyone who gets in my way of revenge" i said and his smile faded

"The choice is up to you. You can either shut your mouth and we can pretend like this whole conversation never happened or you can try to open your mouth- which let me remind you won't result in you being alive anymore" i said

"Lyra?" Melissa's knock on the door interrupted our conversation and i leaned back

"I hope you'll make a smart choice Arthur" i said as i walked outside

I opened the door just enough for me to pass through and Melissa led me away from
The room

"I was worried, the dance is about to start" she said as she hurriedly led me to the ground floor

As we got there, i saw people had already gathered in two rows, standing opposite to each other

I stood in front of Andrew, and beside me was Melissa who was standing in front of a guy i didn't know

"Thats Jacob" she whispered to me

"Jacob?" I said confused as the music began playing

"Jacob Russo, my husband" she revealed and my jaw almost dropped open

"Russo as in-"

"As in the hot shot law firm" she completed my sentence for me and i smiled at her

"Dang Melissa, he's not too bad" i said as the music picked up rhythm and everyone stepped closer to each other

Andrew and i got into positions as everyone broke away into a scenic rhythm and flowed with the music

Slowly, me and Andrew danced along the ball room

"Did you tell her everything?" He asked me

"Enough to have her on our side" i said and he smiled

I battled within on whether i should or shouldn't tell him about Arthur

Knowing Andrew, he would probably want to kill him

My thoughts drifted me away from reality and when i snapped back in, i realized Andrew had already let go of me and i was spinning towards someone else

I landed in someone else's arms, my hands on their chest

I looked up and my eyes met with a really familiar face

"Arthur"
