Chapter 32- Something i didn't know

Arthur's POV
As my story came to an end, i met Lyra's eyes

Even though she didn't say anything, her eyes said everything

"Its okay" i smiled at her

"I didn't know that" she mumbled, taken aback

"Not a lot of people do- even Melissa doesn't" i said and she looked at me wide eyed

"She doesn't know you were going to-?"

"Nope. Never told her" i said calmly

"You see, the next day she said yes to her dad like always and a few days later- i got an invitation to her wedding so there wasn't really much to say" i told her and she nodded

"Makes sense" she said

"Does that answer your question?" I said and Lyra guilty smiled

"Yes and I'm sorry" she said

"Don't be, its a story of the past" i said stretching my arms

"Do you still love her?" She said softly, and my heart skipped a beat

I looked at her to see her hopeful eyes, that very clearly awaited for my answer

"No" i said

"I moved on a while back" i said trying to play it off

"In fact, i have my eyes on someone else now" i added and her eyes lit up a little

"Who?" She asked and i grinned

"Thats a secret"

Lyra's POV
"Thats a secret" he said and my stomach dropped

Does he like someone?

"Can you just tell me?" I said and he smiled

"I will, after all this is over" he said getting up

I was about to say something when a knock on the door interrupted us and he gave a go ahead

The door opened to reveal Melissa and Andrew, both of them looking worried

"Lyra? Are you okay?" Said Melissa

"Who were they?" Said Andrew

"Relax" i said

"I have the information" said Arthur and soon everyone sat down

I gave Arthur a look and he assured me he wasn't going to say anything crazy

"Who did this?" Andrew asked leaning closer

"The one and only" Arthur said looking at Melissa

Cold sweats formed on my forehead as Arthur eyed Melissa curiously and she shrunk under his gaze

"It was Gabriel" Arthur said and i looked at him stunned

"How-"

"The marks on their arms" he explained, opening the familiar footage on the iPad

"Look closely, they're Gabriel's clan's initials" Arthur said and Melissa looked closely

"He's right, two G's are his initials" Melissa confirmed

"But how did my dad get this information?" Melissa said and me and Arthur eyed each other

"I don't know, maybe someone was spying for him" Arthur said playing cool

Thankfully, Melissa didn't figure his suspicion nor did she react in a way that confirmed ours

"So now that we know that, why aren't we doing anything?" Andrew said angrily

"We were, i just needed some time to think" i said

"I think we should come up with a new plan to bring him down" Andrew said and i gave him a look

He cleared his throat and sat up straight

"I'll think again" i said meeting Melissa's eyes

She gave me a faint smile, yet a thankful one

I know she said that she doesn't care about her father, but i can tell that she isn't exactly comfortable with this topic

"Lets think individually, and then meet up in a few hours to settle the issue" Arthur said getting up

"Okay, I'll go back home then" Melissa quickly got up, grabbing her stuff

Andrew soon left behind her saying he will dig into the clan a little deeper so we have more information

Finally, i turned to Arthur

"I'll leave too then" i said to him and his expressions changed a little

"Are you going to be okay?" He asked me, holding my shoulders

"Yes, I can handle it" i said giving his hand a reassuring squeeze

"I don't know Lyra, its really dangerous" he said refusing to let go of me

"They were planning to kidnap you, god knows what would have happened had they been successful" he said a little impatiently

"But they weren't and I'm here with you" i refuted

"But you're going back now-"

"Why are you so scared Arthur?" I said again, confused

"I care about you Lyra" he said soon after

"I really do. when you called me last night- i was so scared" he said honestly and my heart fluttered a little

"I was afraid i was going to lose you and-"

I didn't let him complete his sentence

I sealed all his thoughts as i raised my heels to match his height, and then pressed my lips to his

With all the feelings inside of me, i kissed him
