Lyra's POV
My entire morning was made
I was beyond happy and nothing could go wrong- or at least i thought
As i walked to the kitchen to cook, i found Arthur having a long conversation with someone
He looked tensed, and frustrated at the same time if that was a thing
I gestured him asking what was wrong but he didn't really respond to me
It was like.. maybe he was afraid of something?
I gave up on him and called Andrew
His phone rang up in a distance and i turned around to see him walking through the door
"There he is" i walked to him with a smile on my face, but he didn't look as cheerful as me
"Whats wrong?" I asked him, scanning his face
"Nothing" he lied and i sighed
"Tell me?" I said to him but his eyes just drifted towards Arthur
I looked back and forth between the guys, both of them eyeing each other intensely
The growing tension was giving me anxiety, but no one was telling me everything
"can you all please-"
My words were left hanging as the front door barged open, and came in someone i didn't expect to see
"Melissa?" I said as i looked at her
She made a brief eye contact with me before turning to Arthur
All three of them looked at each other with mixed expressions. Anger, guilt, confusion- everything visible on their face
"CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHATS GOING ON?" I yelled as i looked at all of them frustratedly
"This-" Andrew tried to say but pressed his lips together suddenly
"This what?" I said confused
"Arthur, do you want to tell us all something?" Melissa crossed her arms across her chest, and looked angrily at Arthur
He got up from the chair, taking his time
"Yeah uh" he tried to speak- basically fumbling with words
"God what is it?" I asked, losing the last of my patience
"You guys. Can someone please tell me whats going on?" I said again, looking At everyone one by one
"Arthur is Spider" Andrew blurted out angrily
Flashback
"did you find out who did it?" I asked, setting my hands on the desk
"It was a contract killer" Andrew gave me a paper with a picture and information
"And who was he hired by?" I asked again and Andrew didn't speak
"Who was it?" I asked again and Andrew looked at me guiltily
"Spider"
Present
"Arthur is Spider" Andrew blurted out with pure hatred and Arthur snapped his eyes at Andrew
Melissa looked equally shocked, and mad at the same time
"I can't believe you hid something like that from me" she said clearly hurt
"But then again, you were always a pro at hiding things so why am i even shocked" she mocked him and I automatically knew she was talking about her past
Both Melissa and Andrew expressed their hatred towards him, while he kept his quiet
"Arthur?" I looked at him and he raised his gaze to meet mine
"Lyra trust me i-"
"Don't even bother Lyra, this man is nothing but a liar" Melissa cut through Arthur
"Melissa's right. He's nothing but a liar- he deceived us all" Andrew said soon and Arthur shrunk his shoulders a little
I looked at them for a minute, before turning my eyes to Arthur again
He looked at me with a soft gaze, and a guilty one too
I smiled at him, and he was clearly taken aback
"I already know" i said looking at him, and only in a second- his entire body language shifted
He looked normal now, no more embarrassed
"But Lyra-"
"I already know he's spider" i announced and Andrew looked at me in shock
"What? Why didn't you tell me?" He asked me and i smiled
"I didn't want anything to get in the way of revenge" i said
"But Lyra the revenge existed because of him didn't it? He was the one that-"
"No Andrew turns out we're wrong" i said
"Arthur never ordered to k-ll my father"
