Melissa's POV
"You did what?" I said in disbelief as my blood ran cold
"I planned her accident" Jacob repeated his words, this time more slowly
He told me everything
"I thought she was going to ruin your father, i obviously had to save his image" he said as he told me why he did it
"And so i ordered my guys to malfunction her car brakes" he said and my eyes widened in horror
"And then just to make sure I wasn't missing anything, i paid someone to crash into her" he said, his eyes closing
I took a step back as my knees felt weak
I couldn't control the tears forming in my eyes, I couldn't control myself
I gave into the pain, and fell down on the floor
"What did you do Jacob" i murmured, and Jacob immediately came down on his knees
"I'm sorry i-" he tried to touch me but i jerked my hand away from him
"Don't" i said to him, my vision blurred with tears
"You planned someone's de-th. Someone that didn't had anything to do with you" i said through gritted teeth and he lowered his head in disgust
"If anything fu-king happens to her-" i grabbed his collar, aggressively pushing him
"I WILL FU-KING K*LL YOU" i yelled at him and he met my eyes
I was so out of breath by now, my hands were shivering and my mind was racing
I don't know who i should call
"It's been a while since she left, I don't know if she's still alive" Jacob said and i shot him a look
"Call that guy and ask him. RIGHT NOW" i said and he grabbed his phone, dialing the number
Suddenly, his phone rang and an unknown number popped up
"Its him" he said and my face went pale
"Pick it up" i said almost a whisper and he answered the call
"Boss" the unfamiliar deep voice spoke through the end
"Its done" the guy said and the last bit of strength left my body
"Okay. You will get the money" Jacob said and quickly ended the call
"Its not too late" he said panicking
"Jacob-" i whispered and he turned to look at me
"I have to tell Arthur" i said and he looked at me, eyes widened in horror
"No please don't" he said getting close to me
"He needs to know" i said as i got up, running to my phone
"HE'S GOING TO FUC-KING K*LL ME" Jacob yelled behind me but i grabbed my phone
"I don't care. I don't care if you d-e" i said as i unlocked the phone
"Melissa what the fu*k are you saying?" Jacob said in disbelief
"You hurt my best friend. I swear Jacob if something happens to her, i will be the one to shoot a bullet through your head" i said looking in his eyes
I looked at him for another second and then dialed Arthur's number
Arthur, I'm sorry
Arthur's POV
As i approached the street, my car came to a halt as the sudden traffic jam began
"What the hell" i looked around
People were running here and there, ambulances were heard in a distance
"Its an accident" i muttered as the traffic slowly started moving again
I opened my phone to check a voicemail from Lyra and quickly played it
Her cheerful voice echoed through my car and immediately brought my heart to relaxation
I passed by the area of accident and my vision was met with an upside down damaged car
"Thats rough" i looked at the broken car, the blood all over the place and my heart stopped for a second
I soon drove past it and focused on her voice
By the time i got to the restaurant, the voice note had come to an end
"I can't wait to see you either love" i said to myself as i gave my car to the valet
I was about to walk inside when my phone suddenly started ringing
I glanced at the screen to see Melissa's name displaying
My mind raced in between whether or not to answer
"Screw it" i answered it
"Be quick, im busy" i said as i walked inside the restaurant
"Arthur" Melissa spoke through the other end, and something about her voice made me stop in my tracks
"What's wrong?" I said, furrowing my brows
"L-lyra" Melissa struggled to speak and my face tensed a little
"What about her?" I said
"She got into an a-accident" Melissa stuttered a little and my heart stopped
"What?" I said confused
"Do you even realise what you're saying right now?" I said to her, my mind racing at a tremendous speed
"Jacob planned her accident, and some truck hit her car by the restaurant" she said and my eyes widened in horror
"Fu-k" i yelled as i ran in the opposite direction, back to my car
I ended her call and dialed another number
"Move" i pushed the valet guy as he was about to sit in the car, and quickly closed the door
I revved the car up and stormed out of the street
"Lyra please no" my heart cried as it recalled the scene i saw a few minutes ago
"Please be alive"
