Lyra's POV
"This is intense" Arthur let out a low whistle as he walked inside
He looked at the glass cabinets that went upto the ceiling, all covered in all sorts of weapons
"You seem like a fan of all this treasure" he said walking to the middle where the pistols were kept
I opened one of the cabinets, and picked a pistol
"This one works?" He asked me and i nodded
"This is the best one in this category" i said and gave it to him
"Okay then, lets go" he said and we both walked outside
I closed the doors behind me and after securing them, walked to the front door
"We're taking my car" he said and i looked at him
"Why" i asked
"I don't trust anyone else's cars- sorry its just a me thing" he said sheepishly and i smiled
"Okay" i said as i walked to his car
We both sat down and after instructing his men about the situation, we all drove outside the mansion
"Here" he said as he gave me a packet that looked like a piece of cloth
"Wear this. We don't want you to get caught or anything" he said
I quickly wore the cap and the mask, fixing my hair in process
Soon- we got to the art museum and stopped just a few meters behind the entrance
"We'll stay here- my men will do everything" he said and i pouted
"I want to do it myself" i protested and he gave me a look
"It's dangerous" he said
"The whole point was it being dangerous so i don't know why you're so hesitant" i said and he sighed
"Fine, there's no way i can win against you" he muttered and i smiled
We got out of the car, and slowly walked towards the museum
"Can you hear me?" Arthur said in his ear piece and i waited for his go ahead
"Okay, take the back entrance and tell me if everything's clear" he said holding my hand, pulling me close to him
We waited in the dark for a few minutes, waiting for their approval
And then finally
"Its all clear boss" the voice echoed and i sighed
"Lets go" i said excitedly and Arthur laughed softly
"You're so cute" he said and I pretended to ignore the butterflies in my stomach, making my way forward
We walked together to the museum and i saw the unconscious guards at the entrance
"Is he dead?" I asked and Arthur nodded
"Can't take risks love" he said as he checked the broken camera, making sure
We walked to the back entrance and saw his men lined up at the door
"Boss" they all made way for him and he made way for me
I walked through the space and entered the back of the building
"Damn" i looked at all the expensive paintings, some of them just leaning against the walls waiting to be hung
"Its sad that they were all used to hide black money" Arthur said and i nodded
"So how are we burning it again?" I asked him and he nodded to his men, who bought multiple cylinders and strange looking liquids
"This gas catches fire like crazy, just leak this gas into the atmosphere and light up the slowest match- then sit back and watch this place burn into ashes" he said proudly
He soon asked his men to place the cylinders in all the areas, and then they all pressed the button which allowed the gas to leak in small amounts
"You all can back away now" he said to them as he handed me a lighter
"This is my favorite one, use it for good luck" he said and i smiled
I opened the rectangular box thing and lit the fire- the small flames building anticipation inside me
"Throw it, and back away instantly" Arthur warned me and i nodded
I waited for a second, and then threw the lighter on the floor
In just a second, the fire had indeed picked up on the wooden floor and was spreading through the walls like crazy
The reflection in my eyes was heart warming- it felt like a missing piece of me had returned
So i stood there and watched the place burn into nothing- giving my heart its long awaited peace
"LYRA LETS GO" Arthur pulled me to him, and i snapped out of my thoughts
He led me away from the building right when a blast happened and the doors bursted down
"Oh god" i ran even harder, didn't stop until we got to the car
"Are you okay?" He asked me finally, scanning my face
I smiled and nodded- he sighed
Together, we stared at the building- knowing that this was just the start.
