My Favorite Incomplete Wish

Chapter 38- it was a fun feeling

Melissa's POV
"Dad k-killed her father?" Jacob stuttered a little, as he realized what he was hearing

"Yes" i said calmly as i watched his face grow into utmost horror

"That can't be" he said as regret took over his face and i sighed

"Thats why she wants revenge" i explained

"Melissa I- I did something really really horrible then-" Jacob tried to speak, his hands shivering

"What?" I asked confused

He didn't speak for a moment and panic settled within his eyes

"Jacob?" I leaned to touch his hand but he jerked it away from me

"What did you do?" I said as my heart beat rose, my intuition telling me something was going really wrong

"I planned Lyra's accident"

Lyra's POV
As i hit the road, i dialed Arthur's number

After a few rings- the call went straight to voicemail and i smiled

"Well i know you're really busy with your work, but don't forget about our dinner in 20 minutes. Everything is amazing and so I can't wait to tell you about it. See you soon" i said cheerfully as the line recorded and then hit send

I put my phone away and focused on driving, going through the almost empty roads smoothly

I didn't realize when i went past the speed limit and was now driving close to 120

It was a plain empty road, just before the restaurant street when a smile came on my face

"I can't wait" i muttered as Arthur's face flashed in my mind

As i approached the turn, i hit the brakes to calm my tremendous speed when suddenly- i realized they weren't working

"What the f-ck?" I panicked

I pressed the brakes as hard as i could, but they wouldn't budge

"Fu-k" i shouted as i realized i was going almost a 140 now, and way past the road i was supposed to be on

"No no no" i yelled as i saw a dead end approaching and with my car not stopping any time soon- my fight and flight mode activated

I put the car in neutral and held onto my heart, hoping it would slow down

Seconds before the dead end, the car started to stop and my heart sighed in relief

'Well- this was a close one' i told myself when suddenly

A vehicle blinked its lights to my face and as soon as i turned my face to the side

My vision was met with nothing

In a few seconds it cleared and i saw a heavy truck almost colliding into me

In the next moment, its front hit the driver's side of the car and my car did a quick back flip

With it landing upside down, and me hitting my head to death

Or almost death

Or whatever it was that was coming to me

Half unconscious, my brain gave me flashbacks

Of a smiling Andrew and a giggling Melissa

And then of him. Arthur. The person i wanted to meet tonight.

But i guess the heavens never wanted me to because

My eyes obviously closed, and i was met with darkness
