"So, it seems there was more trauma then noticed with Miss Phillips. I assume with the initial shock as well as the fact that we performed CT scans and MRI's it went unnoticed that she had internal bleeding. Doctor Stevens managed to mend the bond and stop the rupture however the loss of blood signalled to her brain to shut down, she has entered a coma" the nurse explains to us and I hear Toby sharply inhale
I take his hand I mine.
"What about her baby? If she's in a coma doesn't that mean her body isn't working well enough to keep her awake? Let alone another being" I question
"The baby is being monitored on a separate device, right now she is stable, doctor Montgomery, our best OB/GYN and Neonatal Surgeon who's also the chief of that section is monitoring the baby personally. "
"Thank you" I nod
"How long will she be in a coma?" Toby breaks his silence and finally asks
"It's hard to say. It could be a few hours, it could be a few days. " she explains apologetically
"Thank you ma'am" Hanna gives her a small smile and she rushes out
"I can't lose them both.. I can't" Toby cries
"Hey" I say to him squatting down to his level, I hold his face in my hands "you're not gonna lose them. They are both fighters. They are gonna be okay" I say staring into his eyes
"But what if they aren't?" He asks, eyes glossy and cheeks tear stained
"They will be. It'll all be okay." I say as I press my head to his. He holds me close
Hanna
It's awkward . They are having their moment and Marco is just here watching.
I know Marco heard the fight they had, but I don't know how much he knows.
If I'm being honest I love Spencer and Toby together and I do want them together and happy but I can't lie I love Spencer with Marco. She's just so different. She seems free and fun. And that just could be because with him she's drama free. It reminds me of how she was when she was dating Toby, so it does make sense why she's like this. I just don't want her to get hurt if she goes back to him, because Marco is good for her.
"Does anyone want anything to eat or drink?" Marco asks
"I'll take a vanilla chai frappe and some nuggets, I'm so hungry; hangover munchies coming I " I speak up, chuckling lightly
"I'll have a coffee. That's it" Spencer shrugs, breaking the huh
"You needa eat something babe" Marco sighs
"Low blood pressure Spence" Toby continues
"Fine, I'll have a sub or something" she mumbles
"Okay, I know what you like. And for you Toby?"
"I'm good" he shakes his head
"He'll have a green tea with honey, get him a cold cut club, all veggies except green pepper, mozzarella cheese instead of cheddar and for sauces just sweet Thai and house sauce but easy on the sauces" Spencer answers
Damn, she isn't even trying to hide it
"Okay." Marco nods
"I'll come with you bro" Caleb smiles as the two of them leave the room.
"Spence" I sigh
"What?"
"You can't be doing all that infront of him. I don't know what he knows but it's not fair. If you're gonna choose Toby talk to him. Don't just be asserting yourself on Toby with him standing here being all sweet" I explain
