Mary 2 weeks later Saturday December 13th
"Darling you look absolutely gorgeous" I smile at Spencer as she spins in her silver dress
"Thank you" she gushes
"Mom don't cry" she says to Veronica who begins crying
"It's just, you're just beautiful and all grown up"
"How is she gonna be when you're in your wedding dress?" Melissa chuckles and Veronica swats her arm
"All teasing me wait till your babies are grown and no longer need you consistently"
"Hey hey we still need you" Spencer tells her as she leans in to hug her.
"Yeah we always need ya mama" melisa adds as she joins in the hug.
"Alright let's not let my makeup run anymore" Veronica chuckles
"Shall we?" I ask Veronica extending my arm for her
She smiles as she links onto my arm and we exit the prep room heading into the banquet hall filled with friends of Spencer and Toby.
"Hi everyone and welcome to Toby and Spencer's engagement party!" I cheer into the mic as everyone claps and whoops.
"For those of you who don't know I'm Veronica and I'm Spencer mother, and basically a second mother to Toby." Veronica chuckles
"And I'm Mary, Spencer's other mother" I say proudly happy that Spencer allowed me to reveal myself as her mother
"No she's not my partner but she is my date" Veronica jokes "but Mary is a dear friend of mine and we have an amazing daughter together who's gonna get married. I guess that makes us officially old huh"
"I don't know about you but I'm 56 years young" I chuckle
"Sigh. I guess I'm the only old one here." She pouts "anyway, this isn't about us this is about our daughter and the boy who's been like a son to me who's gonna be my official son. Well our official son"
"I haven't known Toby that long but I know he loves my daughter and that is all I need to know" I smile
"Before this all starts We just want to thank everyone for coming. I know it was short notice, so thank you for clearing your schedules to celebrate Toby and Spencer during one of the happiest moments of their lives" Veronica smiles and they all cheer again
