Secrets

Kyle's P.O.V.

 "Are you insane?" Logan said angrily "What were you thinking?" 

 "She walked in when I was in wolf form what was I supposed to do?Plus she helped with my hand" I showed him my palm which had already started healing but since it was deep it would probably take an hour maybe.

 "You didn't have to stay with her you idiot" Logan said angrily

 "Remember who you're talking to" I said as much as I hated it but I was alpha and no one would call me an idiot. I usually listened to Logan since he was my big brother but in the end I was the leader he was beta.

 "I'm sorry I just freaked when I saw you in there in your wolf form" I nodded understanding. I know if it was the other way around I would ave given him hell for it. "What happened with the other pack and the hunters?"

 "The other pack is a bit fazed and I had a run in with a hunter hence the cut. They're getting closer to our land and I will not stand for it. We're going to have to strngthen the patrol." Logan nodded

 "Come on we should probably go back to dinner." We went back to the house and saw that everybody was already eating and chatting happily including Alex, I've neveer seen her smiling genuinly since she got here. 

 "Kyle, Logan I was just telling Alex about the turtle I found today" Sam said happily "I called it  shelly" I laughed at the name and glanced at Alex. 

 "Original Sam" Logan laughed and I saw a hint of amusement

 "Don't listen to him sam" Alex laughed "I like the name shelly."

 "Is it really unoriginal" Sam asked sounding hurt.

 "Hey it's better then the name I would have come up with. You know today I saw a wolf that was black so at first I called it blacky" she laughed as Sam frowned "Yeah he ddn't like it either so now I call him midnight. If I see him again you could meet him" Sam beamed at her and hugged her from the side and I couldn't help but smile. She was talking about me.

I admit at being mad at Alex but I had every right to be, she could have stayed before but she chose to leave and now she came back, why? and when she came back, when I saw her. She was still beautiful, even in her baggy clothes and I felt a pull towards her.

 Mine  My wolf screamed but I didn't listen there was no way Alex Mathews was going to be my mate so I intended on giving her hell, even though I knew me and tyler--who's also a werewolf--took it too far at times especially when we made her cry but I couldn't help it. I wanted her to suffer just like I did when she was gone. I had lost my best friend.

But what made me confused were my parents and the teachers, how they would yell at me when I was mean to her in front of them. How they would throw me disapproving glares but mostly it was coach that surprised me the most. He never and I mean NEVER et anyone sit gym out, not without a report that the person was seriously ill. Yet he just let her sit aside every period.

 "It's good to see you happy Al" Logan smiled and I couldn't help but remember what she said when I was was a wolf 'I never realised I missed laughing ever since I...'  she didn't even continue and that made me wonder what exactly happened? she was so different that at first I was shocked.

 "What are you talking about?" Alex tried to be nonchalant but I could tell what he said kind of surprised her. Logan just rolled his eyes and shrugged.

After a while we finished dinner and Alex watched some cartoons with Sam before going to her room. I don't know why but I felt like I should talk to her. After all she did think I hated her...which I did...I mean she did leave but I...I don't know.

 I knocked and heard her tell me to come in

 "What is it a routine of you to come and insult me everynight? well I'm done" She said anger clearly seeping out of her. I was shocked, she never really talked back and shut up whenever I said anything this was new.

 "I--" I started but shut up when her hand came up

 "I don't want to hear it Kyle. I know you don't want me here but I am so at least let's not bother each other okay?" she said and I thought about the hurt I've put her through and it sent a sickening feeling to my stomach...wait what? why? didn't I hate her? She deserved this for leaving...right?

I didn't even answer her before leaving and slamming the door. I was losing it.

I lay in bed thinking about everything that happened today, m wolf was happy to see her that was for sure. Hell I licked her when she called me midnight. I shook my head and heard my window open.

 "Tyler" I whispered "What are you doing here?"

 "Killed two hunters trying to get past us while we were patroling" I groaned, I couldn't get a break

 "Did anyone get hurt? or slip past you?"

 "No" he said "but I'll check with the families and tell you"

 "okay you can go now" Tyler nodded and left.  Hunters have been coing out of nowhere these days just searching for werewolves and it pissed me off. I went downstairs to talk to my dad and tell him after all he was the prior alpha. I told him everything about the hunters

 "Have you added people to patrol?" My father asked and I nodded "then you're doing the best you can as long as they're not on our land you're doing a good job and if they do you need to get your pack ready" 

 "I know." I sighed "they've been getting stronger and we don't even know how."

 "In time everything will be revealed" my father placed a hand on my shoulder "right now you should sleep" I got up and headed for the door.

 "And Kyle" he said, I turned and he was looking at me sternly "I heard your argument with Alex today, give her a break and stop giving her a hard time believe me you'll regret it."

I snorted "No I won't she deserves it." I said but my dad sighed

 "Take it from me, you'll regret it if you truly find out"

 "Find out what?"

 "It's not my secret to tell. If Alex wants to she'd tell you but for now listen to me" somehow this idea got me mad, that he knew something I didn't

 "Well I guess I'll have to give her hell till she tells me" I said through clenched teeth.

 You won't win her this way  my wolf growled at me

'I don't want to win her' I told him

Yeah right A growl escaped my mouth and my father looked at me knowingly

 "Get some sleep son" he left the room leaving me angry and confused.
