Chapter 36: Nikki Cresselia

Hannie's POV

"Aish, ang sakit!" angal ng kasama ko.

"Good for you! Ang engot mo kasi tinanggal mo bigla dextrox mo."

"It was for you! Parang hindi ka naman kinilig sa yakap ko!"

"Enough of that you two. Ang lalaki niyo na away pa din kayo ng away," Mom teased while walking us outside the hospital..

"Bata pa po kami nag-aaway na kami tita?" Xander asked.

"Yes, halos araw araw kayo nag-aaway. You don't remember?"

"Pa-onti onti po bumabalik ang memorya."

"Those days were so fun lalo nap ag umiinit ulo ni Nikki at pinag-uuntog kayo."

Natahimik kami bigla. She really was like a glue to us.. I quickly wiped away the tear that escaped.

Xander put his arm around me and onto my shoulder at least that kept me from crying.

"Don't worry if you cry yayakapin kita para kiligin ka. Bilis iyak na." Siniko ko agad siya.

"Aray! I just got from a hospital and you're already hurting me!"

"Evo don't be such a drama queen! Walang nabugbog sayo kaya ka naospital! Geez."

"Ito naman. Highblood?" He squeezed his hold on me and immediately looked down. Asar naman to kinikilig tuloy ako!

It took us an hour to reach Haven Cemetery.. Where she was..

Losing someone you love is the most painful thing especially if you spent years not knowing about it.

I put down the orchids on her gravestone. Orchids were her favourite flowers, I would always let yaya buy a bouquet when we fought, peace treaty ko sakanya.

I closed my eyes after reading her name.

Nikki Cresselia

Ate Nikki, sorry ah? Ilang taon pa ang lumipas para bumisita ako. Ngayon lang bumalik lahat.. Sorry dahil sa mali kong kilos nariyan ka ngayon at wala dito.. Miss na kita ate.. Ilang taon mang ang lumipas nang hindi kita maalala, mahala na mahal pa din kita.

Lagi ka nandiyan para sa akin, kela mommy at daddy at sa mga kabigan ko. You took care of us. You made us happy when we're down. You help us in all possible ways. You were always there.

Sorry ate dahil sa mga kasalanan ko. I can't tell them all kasi baka abutan ako dito ng siyam siyam.

Are you happy there? I hope you are because you should be! I know lagi mo kami binabantayan. We love you ate. I love you. You are my number one ate.

And guess what, I'm getting married! Sa lalaki pang mahal ko. I don't know if he loves me too.. I don't know if destined kami para sa isa't isa or whatever pero sana kami talaga. We were young then so no feelings kami sa isa't isa... I'm hoping now..

I turned around and walked passed everyone and sat down in the car.

I couldn't speak. I wouldn't. Kasi alam kong oras na magsasalita ako bibigay ako..

Xander's POV

Tahimik siya buong byahe. I didn't want to bother her, I know she's going through something because Ate Nikki was like a sister to me too.

Dumating kami sa condo at tahimik pa din siya. Malamya siyang umakyat at naligo.

Kinuha ko 'yong cookbook na binigay sa akin ni mom at nagbrowse ng pwedeng pang-dinner.

"Han! Baba ka na, dinner's ready!" inalalayan ko siyang bumaba.

"Eat up! Pinaghirapan ko 'yan! I know it's not much but I did my best.."

Umupo siya sa dining table at hindi sa counter. Umupo ako sa tapat niya at pinagmasdan siyang kumain. Tinikman ko luto ko. Yes! First time and it tastes great! Buti hindi hilaw!

After dinner she cleaned the dishes. Pasimple kong kinuha 'yong parfait sa ref at sakto pagtalikog niya binungad ko sakanya ito. I saw that she was shock. Kinuha niya ito at nagsimulang kainin ito. She really is a glutton.

That parfait was the easiest to make, layers of berries, cookie crumbs and whip cream, tapos!

She stood up and walked towards me. Nakatayo siya sa harap ko, hindi ko alam kung ano tumatakbo sa isip niya habang pinagmamasdan ako.

Nabigla nalang ako nang tumingkayad siya at hinalikan ako sa pisngi.

I was stunned. My throat went dry at halos uminit na buong mukha ko. Tinignan ko lang siya habang pa-akyat siya sa kwarto. I know we already kissed but it's way different right now because she was the one who kissed me.

Nakangiti akong hinugasan ang naiwan na kalat at naligo.

Paglabas ko ng banyo na-abutan ko siyang natutulog na. Paghiga ko umikot siya para humarap sa akin at sumiksik sa akin.

I heard her sobs.. I felt the ache in my heart seeing her like this. I hugged her, a hug that made me want to let her feel that I'm here.

Minutes later she calmed down.

"S-sorry.. Nabasa ko dibdib mo..."

Tumayo siya at kumuha ng pamunas sa closet. Humiga siya at pinunasan dibdib ko.

I took the towel from her and threw it away, I immediately hugged her.

"Han... N-nandito lang ako o-okay?"

I felt her nod in my embrace.

"Go to sleep my dear fiancée.."

"Goodnight Xander" She snuggled getting comfortable and took one last sigh.

"Goodnight Han. I love you..."
