The rest of the day went on as normal. At around 10:00 Avery let out a small yawn,
"I'm getting tired. I think I'm going to get to bed."
Kris looked over at her,
"Alright. Remember you will be sleeping in Luhan's room tonight."
She nodded as she made her way up the stairs, Luhan close behind her. When she got to his room he opened the door for her,
"I know it isn't picture perfect, but it's all I have."
Avery smiled,
"You room is fine, Luhan. I like it."
He gave her a toothy grin; she giggled as she looked around.
His room was also smaller than Kris' and had a small balcony next to the bed on the opposite side of the room with stained glass doors with the image of a wolf pack howling at the moon,
"So how did you end up with EXO-K in the first place?"
Luhan asked, sitting down on his bed,
"I was running from guards in a small town on the fringes of The Forest. I was stealing from the Lord of the town, Lord Cathlow, but he had been murdered before I arrived. I didn't know this at the time, if I did I wouldn't have gone. When the guards came in and saw me they figured I killed him and began chasing me. I made it pretty far, but one of the guards fired a poison arrow at me. It did not hit me but it did graze me which significantly slowed me down. I knew they would never follow me into The Forest due to a superstition that there are monsters and evil beings and creatures in here. I was just wandering when I found their mansion, but if I wouldn't have I wouldn't be standing here right now. I probably would've died out there. When they found me in their house they helped to nurse me back to health. I owe them my life."
She moved to sit next to Luhan on the bed as he thought her story over,
"Did you live in that town?"
"No. After I ran away from Little River orphanage with my best friend Rose Blackthorn, I've been bouncing from city to city, town to town. One time we traveled to the south to a different country. She liked it there and said she wanted to stay and find her brother. I tried to help and was thrown in prison for what I found. I broke out and found Rose and said I was going to move on, "that's so like you. Be careful" she said as she hugged me tightly, then sent me on my way back out into the world. I had bounced between multiple cities and towns until I found that one. I might not look like it but I'm actually a very good thief. That's why I think it's funny that all of you think that just because I'm sleeping in a room with someone else that I can't escape." She turned to Luhan,
"If I wanted to leave I would already be gone. And you would not be able to find me. Neither would EXO-K. If there's one thing I'm good at, it's disappearing. I'm stronger than I look. Both physically and mentally."
Luhan looked stunned. He never thought someone so kind and relaxed could talk so bluntly. So strongly. She's much different from Isabel, he thought as she stretched her arms over her head,
"I'm getting tired. If that's all you wanted to know I'm going to go to bed."
"No. There's one more thing I need to know."
"What is it?"
Avery asked as Luhan gently pulled her closer to him and rested his left hand on her waist while his right played with the hair that fell around her face.
"This."
He leaned in and kissed her passionately; deeply. Avery was very confused but she couldn't stop herself from wrapping her arms around his neck and kissing him back just as passionately. He moved his hand from her face down to hold her waist as she placed one hand on his chest while the other held the back of his head gently. Once they could no longer breathe, they gently pulled apart and rested their foreheads against each other. Luhan smiled,
"I was right. You do care for me."
Avery smiled back,
"I do, Luhan. I care for you greatly. But I care for the others as well. Kris, Chen, Tao, Xiumin, Lay. I know I don't know any of you very well, but I feel drawn to all of you. I want you all to be okay."
"I know. It's alright. I understand. They care for you as well. Very much."
Avery looked down, slightly embarrassed,
"I didn't realize I affected everyone here like that."
"You do."
"Alright. Anyway I'm tired. I'd like to get to bed."
Luhan laughed softly and nodded,
"Fair enough. You can have the bed. I'll take the floor. Goodnight Avery."
She smiled,
"Goodnight Luhan."
As Luhan settled into a spot on the floor, he kept thinking about the kiss, I was right... She is very different from Isabel. Her kiss was filled with passion and love. Isabel's never was. She never cared. Her turned to look at Avery's sleeping form on his bed,
I just hope history doesn't repeat itself.
