Bad Moon Rising

Avery looked from Baekhyun to Luhan in confusion,

"What does she have to do with anything? I thought she was dead."

She asked and Kris looked down,

"We all did. I don't understand how this could've happened. The forest isn't right either. It feels... still. Dead. Like the spirit of the forest was ripped away. There's a mist, too. It isn't around the mansions but if you start to leave the mansions behind too far an eerie, thin mist shows up. It'll turn you around and you'll be lost in no time. I'm surprised we made it back here."

Avery nodded in understanding before speaking,

"Hey, Isabel looks like me, right?"

They all nodded in affirmation before she continued,

"Well... I saw her. Here. When Kai and I were trapped in Chanyeol's room."

"What?!"

Baekhyun almost yelled in shock. Avery nodded,

"Yeah. She was watching us. Glaring at me. I believe she's doing this but I don't know why. So I need you guys to be honest with me: did you tell me the entire truth on your history with her?"

No one spoke for a few minutes before Chen spoke up,

"I told you everything I know. She gave us our abilities, pitted us against each other to gain her love. In the end she was using us, she never wanted any of us."

His tone goes from soft to harsh as he speaks. Avery rests a comforting hand on his shoulder before walking towards the balcony. There was a bright light coming from outside, causing her to squint slightly and search for the source. When she found it, she spoke slightly louder and addressed the boys behind her,

"The moon is really bright. It's full, too."

Kris came out and looked at the moon with her. He cursed softly under his breath before he suddenly doubled over, holding his head in pain. Avery gasped and moved to help him, only to have the Alpha wolf shove her away,

"Stay back!"

He growled, his inner wolf coming out as his eyes glowed a dark amber. She heard a commotion coming from inside and looked to see the same thing happening to Chen, Tao, and Luhan. She looked at Baekhyun in confusion and alarm,

"Baekhyun, what's happening?"

He shook his head in confusion,

"I don't know-"

His response was cut off by the sounds of wolves howling in the distance. Avery locked eyes with the vampire as he moved to stand next to her,

"Stay by me. Kris, what's happening?"

Baekhyun addressed the Alpha worriedly. Kris gripped the wall of the mansion as he spoke,

"The Wolf.... it's being forced out of us.... like we're being.... forced to.... turn... Xiumin and Lay did.... I heard them howl..... they'll be coming here next... for Avery. Get her... out of here... we'll hold them off as long as we can."

Kris spoke, gritting his teeth and grunting in pain every few words. Baekhyun held Avery close to him as they heard the front door being kicked in and paws padding up the stairs. Kris moved to join the others, turning back to Avery as the bedroom door burst open,

"Run!!!!"

He yelled, morphing into a wolf with the others and beginning to fight Lay and Xiumin, while struggling to not attack Avery in the process. Baekhyun picked Avery up in his arms before leaping from the balcony and running off into the forest. Avery clung to Baekhyun tightly, shutting her eyes, hoping to block out the horrid images her mind had created to the scenario she feared; the wolves and vampires tearing each other apart. All because of Isabel. Baekhyun seemed to sense her fear and began to speak softly to her,

"It's going to be okay, Avery. I promise you. We can figure this out together. We can save all of them. I'm taking us to the EXO-M mansion, if any place'll have answers, it's there. Plus no one's home."

Avery nodded in understanding, resting her head against his chest as she hoped for the safety of the others,

Just hold on a little longer, boys. We'll free you from whatever curse Isabel set. I promise.

She thought to herself as Baekhyun ran swiftly and quickly through the forest, a thin mist beginning to seep into the air. Luckily for them, however, his speed paid off and they had arrived at their destination. Baekhyun raced into the house and headed to the bedrooms before placing Avery down,

"Okay, if I remember correctly Luhan and Lay know a lot about magic and Wicca and Daemons etc. so I suggest we split up. I'll search Luhan's room and you search Lay's. If I don't find anything I'll go to Chen's. If you don't find anything go to Tao's. We should search Kris's room together, seeing as he's the Alpha. He wouldn't leave important shit lying around, nor would he make it easy to get to. Okay?"

Avery nodded quickly and Baekhyun pulled her into a tight hug,

"I'll be one room over. Yell for me and I'll come running. Please... be careful. I don't know what I'd do if anything were to happen to you."

He kissed the top of her head gently and lovingly. Avery smiled softly at the display of affection as he released her and went into Luhan's room. Avery turned on her heel and went into Lay's room. It looked similar to Chen's. Almost a carbon copy. She began searching the chest at the foot of his bed. Finding nothing of any importance, she moved to his bookshelf only to come up empty again. She sighed and sat down on the bed, looking left and noticing a small, dark wooden nightstand. Curiously, she pulled the drawer open and sifted through the various bits of junk the drawer had accumulated until she came across a leather bound book. Avery pulled it out and opened it to the first page,

Lay's Journal

Avery smiled to herself,

Jackpot. Maybe his journal will have something to help us figure out what's happening.

She turned to a page labeled "Entry 1", sitting back against the headboard as she began reading.

Hey guys! Sorry I've been gone so long. I've been super busy with school but good news is I'm going to try and update regularly from now on. Thank you all so much for your patience and support for this book!
