A Burden { Tsukishima x Reader }

{Tʀᴜsᴛ Issᴜᴇs}

After explaining what has happened for the 3rd time to the principal he finally understood.

Sitting back into his change he shooed his hand and told everyone to get back to class.

"Um I know this might be much but is it ok if I got home, or at least stay in your office a bit longer. I would rather not go back into my classroom." You pleaded.

"Well since this isn't urgent enough I'm afraid I cannot send you home, and I need to call Mari down to the office and have a talk with her to be able get this situation straight, so you can't stay in here either.

You stared at the ground and your fingers clung to the edges of your skirt in embarrassment. By this time everyone had already left their room and went back to class, even though they didn't want to Daichi insisted.

The principal sighed. "Look if I were in your situation I wouldn't even know how I would feel, so I'll allow you to sit in the nurses office until your 'better', alright?"

You looked up, and a small wave of relief came over you. "Thank you so much!" You bowed and stepped out of his office.

Once you closed the door, you stood there and straightened up before you wanted to wanted to head to the nurses office.

"Are you just going to stand there or what?" Someone said from your left.

"What? Oh. Wtf Tsukishima were you standing there the entire time, and were you eavesdropping on me, and how come you're not in class right n-..."

"Woah, woah, woah. Calm down there candlestick. To answer your questions, yes, maybe, and I just told Daichi that I forgot something." He cut you off.

"Oh sorry." You mumbled and scratched your head in frustration.

"Stop worrying." He said after watching you grow anxious.

"Huh? Yea as if it's that easy." You rolled your eyes. "Well thanks for waiting for me and all but I'm going go to the nurses office now." You threw a sideways peace sign and headed towards the nurses office.

Tsukishima just shoved his hands in his pocket and followed you. You felt his presence lingering behind you.

"Why are you following me." You said while continuing to look straight to your destination.

"There's no point for me to go back to class. People are just going to be annoying and gossip and plus there's no one there for me to make fun of." He said so effortlessly.

"Well you don't got to follow me, and plus I rather be alone." You talked back.

"That's too damn bad." He spat back.

~time skip~

It's been about 2 hours since you both sat in the nurses office.

Tsukishima had ended up bringing his and your lunch into the nurses office for the two of you to eat.

At the moment you somehow were sitting on one of the bed while Tsukishima sat on the floor facing the window, in between your legs while you tried to put the hair he had on his head into a ponytail.

"Jeez this is harder than I would of imagined." You laughed while trying to gather his hair into one to tie it up, but it ends up escaping from the ponytail. "Aww dang it, I give up." You laughed while looking up at how you messed up you made his hair.

"What's so funny?" he said standing up.

"Here." you gave him a small mirror for him to look at himself. You tried so hard not to laugh again, but Tsukishima's reaction caused you to bust out dying.

"Wow. You messed up my hair and now your laughing at me. Very funny." He too couldn't help but let out a little chuckle.

You both calmed down and sat next to each other. You leaned your head on his arm and stared out the window.

"Hey Tsukki." You spoke.

"Yea." He replied.

"I know that you might find me annoying and that words probably don't mean much but thanks again. Thanks for being there for me during my hardest times and it sucks that I can't be there for you in the same way, so thanks."  You said.

You two sat there in silence before Tsukishima finally figured out what to say, or moreover how to put what he wanted to say in words. "Look {f/n} I'm not the best at expressing my feelings as you and everyone else could probably tell, but uh you being here is enough for me. You make coming to school somewhat something I look forward to." He lowly said.

He grabbed your hand and placed it on his lap and started to outline the little creases in your finger with his finger. You got shivers up your body from him doing it but you figured his was doing it out of anxiety from him opening up to you.

"I just have trust issues that's why I've been a little on edge with this whole Mari incident."

Him reminding you about what you've been distracting yourself from made you tense up, and Tsukishima knew that it would so he pulled you down the lay in his lap, but mostly so you couldn't look at him while he tried to get what he wanted to say out.

"When I found out that she had been deceiving me I was so mad I didn't know what to do. And then when I found you the other day my entire body broke and I felt so much pain because I knew that it was mostly my fault." He sadly said.

You flinched when he said it was his fault but you didn't speak just yet.

"So I'm the one who should be apologizing {f/n}. I'm sorry." His voiced cracked and then you felt a tear splash onto your cheek.

You sat up and grabbed his wrists forcing him to look at you. Despite how uncomfortable you felt in this situation you had to make one thing clear.

"Tsukishima this is in no way your fault ok. So please don't blame yourself or else I'll have to blame myself. So just promise me you won't blame yourself." You asked while you maintained eye contact with him even though he started to break it.

He turned away before regaining eye contact again.

"Tsukki. Promise me. Please." You pleaded.

"Whatever you say candlestick." He voice still cracked even thought he was trying to remain stotic.

You couldn't help but hug him. You and him both needed it. So you impulsively shoved your arms around his body and sobbed. He engulfed his arms around your neck, squeezing you further into the hug.

"It's ok Tsukki I'm always here for you."

'I never want this moment to end.' You thought.

'I wish we could stay like this forever.' He thought.
