At Home..

The clock struck one o'clock a.m.. Demi rose quickly in the bed , in a puddle of sweat. Another one of those dreams had occurred again. The dream where Summer in each scenario had broken up with her. Every variation ended the same, Demi heartbroken. Demi wiped the sweat from her brow and looked over at Summer, who wore a peaceful sleeping face. She climbed out of the bed and stumbled into the bathroom. The sink flooded with cool water, while she washed her pale face. Once finished, she walked outside into the cool fall night.
Demi leaned against her balcony rails. The glow of downtown Los Angeles light up the night. How ever, no matter how bright those lights were, it could not light her heart of darkness. She was terrified to tell Summer about her coming out. In her mind she knew that the truth would reveal itself ultimately. She constantly pushed back the thought of Summer rejecting her. How ever, the more she thought about it, the more it seemed a possibility. Glistening wet temples filled her chocolate cream eyes. She shook her head desperately, trying to stay strong. Why is love the hardest thing to deal with, she thought. Her neon blue hair seemed to match the tears she was currently drowning in. The necklace that she wore around her neck, symbolizing her eternal love for Summer became a mockery of this situation. Demi needed an outlet just for a moment. Music always seemed to be the only healthy suppressor.
She went back inside and closed the porch slide doors. A tan acoustic guitar signed by Kelly Clarkson, a gift from Summer, stood in the corner. Demi slowly walked over and slide her hand down the neck of the guitar. Her painted fingers picked up the instrument and she strapped it around her.

Summer was asleep in Demi's bed, when she was awaken by soulful singing. She turned over and looked at the clock; two thirty a.m.. Why isn't Demi sleep, she pondered. One foot before the other, she climbed out of the warm king size bed. The brightness of the living room blinded her tired eyes. Demi stood in the middle of the floor strumming and singing a song,

" She don't like the flash, wanna keep us in the dark
She don't like the fame, hate it when we're miles apart
And she getting to the point where it's too much for her
And throw us all away 'cause it's too much for her
She can't hide away 'cause the world knows who we are

She don't like the lights
She don't, she don't, she don't
She don't like the lights
She don't, she don't, she don't

Don't wanna share with no one else, want me to herself
Don't want no love in front of the camera

She don't like the lights
She don't, she don't, she don't
She don't like the lights

She's giving ultimatums, she don't like this life
She said if I loved her, I'd give it up won't think twice
I can't do that
And it's getting to the point where it's too much for her
Wanna throw it all away, 'cause it's too much for her
She don't wanna live this life, damn, it's my life

She don't like the lights
She don't, she don't, she don't
She don't like the lights
She don't, she don't, she don't

Don't wanna share with no one else, want me to herself
Don't want no love in front of the camera

She don't like the lights
She don't, she don't, she don't
She don't like the lights

How can I choose between the two
When all the lights are all I know?
I wish she could see, how good this can be
I hope that she waits a little bit longer
'Cause I don't wanna live life, without her by my side
'Cause she gives the light that's in me
But she don't know, she don't know
