From an anti-national

How ironical it is that we vandalise property,

Just for a film, while we all run after money.

How easily do we stand up for the honour of a fictional character

While not giving a damn about real life women whose chastity really matters

How easily do we protest against rapist babas to be jailed

Or a corrupt politician to be bailed

But no one gives a heed about women and children being raped

Or Dalits still being discriminated

How easily do we slaughter someone for beef

But for the starving people, our heart doesn't grieve.

While the media covers even the histories

Of the dress designers of celebrities

For snatching the brownie points of TRPs

No one knows about the humongous deaths due to poverty
How easily do we claim that only the government is incompetent

While our own efforts towards our environment are thoroughly insufficient

"Why can't these uncivilised people use dustbins?" we say with a contorted face

While throwing chips wrappers from their BMWs at the very same place

It's a high time we ruminate our hypocrisy

The fake pride that we take as our glory

Otherwise we would be left as just a paradox
