Lorelai had dreaded this day all week.

Friday.

The day before she went dress shopping with her daughter's, Lane, Paris and Liv's friend from college, Hayley.

And her mother.

As her and Luke walked past the cars that belonged to said daughters parked outside the Gilmore House, her mind worked quickly to think of a way to get out of this dinner.

"I've got a pain," Lorelai blurted.

"Same, mines called Lorelai, what about yours?" Luke rolled his eyes, going to ring the bell.

Lorelai grabbed his arm quickly to stop him, "Emily, and she's in there. Actually it's not a pain anymore, it's more of a nagging sensation on my brain screaming 'don't do it Lorelai, don't go in there' and it's so strong I can't ignore it," she rambled quickly, "I'll do anything. I'll organise my shoes better, I'll give you your half of the wardrobe back, I'll stop drinking coffee."

Luke quickly rang the bell while she was going on, and she scowled at him, "and I thought you loved me."

"Yes, and I know that you love coffee, and if you gave it up you'd end up murdering me," Luke smiled.

"True," She muttered, as the door opened to Liv standing there, smiling.

"Hey honey," Lorelai smiled, hugging her. She looked back at Luke, who was froze in his spot, "Come on, babe. You look like you've been hit in the face with a frying pan."

"You're...standing," Luke stuttered.

Lorelai looked down at Liv's legs and gasped, "Oh my God, sweetie!" She grinned, "why didn't you tell me?"

"I wanted to surprise you. And I think Luke's a bit too surprised," she laughed, seeing her stepdad still froze on the doorstep.

"Olivia, close the door and come in here! It's cold!" Emily called from in the other room.

"Coming Grandma!" She called, "come on, Luke."

The three walked into the sitting room after detaching Luke from the doorstep, where Jess was talking and everyone else laughing.

"What're you talking about?" Liv asked, sitting on his lap. Emily opened her mouth to say something, but Liv stopped her, "there's nowhere else to sit."

"Oh yes," Emily mumbled, looking around, "Well Jess was just telling us about your little fiasco," she giggled.

"You're not," Liv gasped.

"I am," Jess grinned.

"Liv, why would you put soup in an oven?" Rory laughed.

"And how have you never had to warm up soup?" Logan asked.

"It's called takeout. And I can't believe you betrayed me like that!" Liv pouted at Jess.

"Well, Olivia, I can't wait for this wedding. You're grandmother and I have had your present for a very long time! Drink Lorelai, Luke?" Richard walked to the trolley.

"Water for us both please, Dad," Lorelai smiled, looking wearily at Emily.

"Coming up!" Richard grinned.

"Do you know what, Lorelai, you three really have found good ones," Emily smiled at her.

"We have, haven't we?" Lorelai smiled at Luke.

"And I can't believe that all of you will be married soon," Emily smiled, in the same way.

"That seems to be the plan," Lorelai chuckled nervously.
