-Jade-

The morning after Jade woke up feeling delightfully sore all over. She stretched her arms out above her head and turned to her side.

A smile slowly made its way to her lips as she remembered last night's events. Her body came alive when she relived the moment William had stepped into her bedroom and quickly made his way over to her.

It is a miracle that no one heard us... She thought and sat up.

The chilly morning had made its way into the house creaks and small holes and left it freezing cold. This part of her past Jade didn't miss as much as other parts of it. She shuddered from the cold that slithered around her naked body. The hairs on her neck stood up while she looked towards the little window of her room and she could see snowflakes falling outside of it.

Jade pulled her cover around her as she took the beautiful snow in, falling in big thick flakes in the morning light in. Normally she would have been up by now and on her way to the baker, even though it was snowing and freezing cold, but... since she hadn't gotten much sleep, she had slept in. What surprised her more was the fact that neither of her parents had come to wake her up.

Jade got up and put her clothes on. She threw a longing look on her bed and became warm all over her body as she pictured William on top of her. His kisses spreading all over her skin and the strong hands' eager and a bit rough touch.

William had left her in the early hours just so her father wouldn't rip his head off for catching him in his daughter's bed. It seemed to have pained him greatly when he got dressed and ready to leave Jade in her bed. She had fallen back to sleep rather rapidly after he left but he took the warmth of his body with him, and Jade had been left to keep herself warm throughout the rest of the night.

. . .

At breakfast Jade noticed how Loren was eyeing William and her down with a content smirk on his face. He sucked his teeth just before taking a sip of his warm milk, which Jade's mother had so generously served for him. Warm milk was rare... and only for the most deserving. Loren fit her mother's description of this very well since he had kept her oldest daughter safe from harm and delivered her to her parents again.

"What is on your mind, Loren?" William mumbled to the smirking guard. His voice was very low as to not catch Jade's father's attention. Jade threw a suspicious look at Loren and he had a smirk on his face still, even as he put his cup of milk down again.

"Slept anything?" Loren whispered back when Jade's parents wasn't noticing. He gave Jade a very short look and then met William's. "I thought I heard the door... open last night."

"Shut up." William muttered as Jade turned her eyes to Pete who was sitting in their mother's lap. Jade pretended that she didn't hear the men's whispers. "Or I will make sure you get enlisted into mother's guards." He growled and the smirk on Loren's face immediately disappeared.

Jade almost choked on her milk when she heard the threat.

He cannot mean that, can he? He wouldn't do that to Loren... Would he?

Jade's questions were answered as William chuckled and Loren chimed in shortly after.

"Children..." she whispered in laughter and they both gave her amused looks.

. . .

Two weeks passed and life in Thornstead went back to normal, almost. Jade had a hard time believing that William was here, and that he didn't seem to be in a hurry to leave. It appeared that William seemed to thrive in the village, to Jade's astonishment. He even bought himself some comfortable and not so... luxurious clothes to fit in among the other villagers. He also bought Jade clothes that her parents considered more fitting; a dark blue dress in linen, a black apron and a dark brown bodice which was tied at her chest.
