-William-

William's father laughed amused at his son's interruption.

"So... son." He said and walked over to this William. He placed one of his large hands on William's shoulder. "Show me where you live."

William pressed his lips together quickly and then put his mask on. It had been a long time since he had worn it and it felt strange. He almost felt uncomfortable wearing it.

"I live here, father." William answered his father quietly. He locked eyes with him and hoped that he would behave. A very amused expression appeared in his father's face.

Oh no...

"Oh... Is that so?" he hummed and threw a quick look over at Jade. "Well... I guess things are done differently around here." He said very quietly and smirked at his son. "As I told you long ago; I don't care when you consummate your-"

"Father." William warned his father sternly. "There won't be any heirs if you keep talking." He added quietly. "And you will be childless if you keep talking." William added and nodded towards Jade's father.

He then threw a glance at Jade's parents and then turned his gaze back to his father. They were all looking at him, but only his father looked amused. The other two looked confused and suspicious. His father's mustache twitched quickly from left to right before he suddenly turned towards Jade's parents again.

"Do you really trust these two, underneath the same roof?" he chuckled impressed. His right index finger pointed at Jade and then at his son before he clasped his hands together.

William could see the color disappear from Jade's face, but William was a little better trained than her in hiding instant reactions. He hid his very well because the slightest hint of truth in this situation would put Jade's father into a fit of rage.

"Barely." Jade's father scoffed and crossed his arms. He did not sound like he heard what William's father was actually saying... The question was really; Do you really not think they are meeting in secret?

"From the sound of it you have had to keep them apart as well?" Jade's father continued.

A low chuckle erupted from William's father and he watched as his shoulders jiggled a little.

-Jade-

She wanted to disappear into the ground. Her father thought that he was doing such a great job with making sure his daughter's honor was intact. What he didn't know was that he had failed a long time ago... and if William didn't get the king to stop talking, her father would soon have to face a very bitter truth.

William and Jade locked eyes. The only sign of William feeling the same panic as she did was his eyes, and it wasn't something anyone could easily see. You had to know his looks to see that he was screaming on the inside.

"I never tried to." The King suddenly answered her father.

Jade felt like her feet couldn't keep her standing. It almost felt like she was standing on a slippery rock, trying her best not to fall down. She clasped her hands nervously in front of herself and swallowed. The king clearly not done talking.

"I was very determined when I was in my son's age... and if someone would have tried to keep a girl as beautiful as your daughter away from me, I would have found a way to-"
