・・・・☆・・・・☆ ・・・・

ᓚᘏᗢ-I tried to find entities that share characteristics with 'The Lady,' blending modern storytelling with the timeless themes of transformation, betrayal, and the liminal space between beauty and terror. Here are some additional beings that resonate with aspects of her story:

⋆.˚Banshee (Irish Mythology)

While not a direct match, the banshee is a female spirit whose wail is said to foretell the death of a family member. The banshee's connection to sorrow and her ethereal, sometimes terrifying appearance, shares thematic elements with 'The Lady's' haunting existence and transformation.

⋆.˚Futakuchi-Onna (Japanese Folklore)

The Futakuchi-Onna, or "two-mouthed woman," is a woman cursed or transformed to have a second, voracious mouth on the back of her head, hidden beneath her hair. This being reflects the theme of cursed transformations and living hair, albeit in a different manner than 'The Lady.' The hair taking a life of its own, the symbolism of the oppressed woman, transformed into a monster after a horrible event, the woman always blamed.

This story sounds extremely similat to The Lady's even tho i do not believe a mouth is hidden underneath her wavy dark hair.

⋆.˚Slenderman

Originating from internet forums, Slenderman is a tall, faceless figure in a suit, known for his ability to stretch his limbs and torso to inhuman lengths. While not a direct parallel, the element of transformation and his haunting presence echo 'The Lady's' ability to change and instill fear.

⋆.˚White Lady (Global Folklore)

White Lady legends are found worldwide, depicting the spirits of women who suffered betrayal or loss, often appearing in flowing white garments. Their stories of love, loss, and haunting vengeance resonate with the narrative of 'The Lady,' particularly in their connection to specific locales and tragic backstories.

⋆.˚Kuchisake-Onna (The Slit-Mouthed Woman) (Japanese Legend)

This is the spirit of a woman who was mutilated and now wears a mask, asking people if they find her beautiful. Upon removing her mask to reveal her grotesque mouth, she further questions her victims, leading to deadly consequences. The focus on beauty, transformation, and a tragic backstory closely aligns with 'The Lady's' narrative.

⋆.˚Onryō

As i mentioned in the chapter "Theory" there is a similarity with The Lady and one of these Japanese spirits. Onryō are vengeful spirits who, wronged in life, return from the afterlife to seek vengeance on the living. These spirits are characterized by their powerful emotions, particularly anger and sorrow, which fuel their ability to impact the physical world. The concept of the Onryō provides a cultural context that can deepen our understanding of 'The Lady's' haunting presence and abilities.

⋆.˚Jorōgumo

(Japanese: 絡新婦 (kanji), じょろうぐも (hiragana)) is a type of yōkai, a creature of Japanese folklore. It can shapeshift into a beautiful woman, so the kanji that represent its actual meaning are 女郎蜘蛛 (lit. 'woman-spider'). Similar to the lady they both have spider like appearances, the extra limbs helping them.

⋆.˚Manchachicoj

Manchachicoj was a small, deformed being that was, nevertheless, seductive, elegant, and romantic. Manchachicoj was the child of a demon and a witch. It was a tragic figure, who was fated to constantly seek out an impossible love with a nice, young human.

⋆.˚Noppera-bō (Japanese Legend)

Also known as the "Faceless Ghost" in Japanese legend, this spirit appears at first as an ordinary human but then reveals a featureless, smooth face to scare unsuspecting victims. Similar to the Lady hwo at first appears like an ordinary person ony to suddenly change. She has also been seen having no face.

⋆.˚ Veela (Slavic Folklore)

In Serbian legend they were maidens cursed by God; in Bulgaria they were girls who died before they were baptised; in Poland they were young girls floating through the air atoning for frivolous past lives. Very beautiful; can charm humans. While angry, they transform into harpy-like creatures. Similar to the Lady except from the hair colour silver-white≠black.
