I woke up with a searing pain in my lower abdomen, and it didn't take me long to realize what had caused it. My period had arrived, and with it came the agonizing cramps that left me feeling like I'd been run over by a truck.

As I lay in bed, clutching my stomach, I heard the sound of footsteps approaching. The door to the bedroom creaked open, and Ace walked in with a concerned look on his face.

"Alessa, are you okay?" he asked, his voice filled with worry.

I didn't say anything just continued to stare at him. "Alessa, please, tell me and I swear if there's anything else I can do to help, I will,  just tell me."

I hesitated for a moment, unsure if I should tell him. Then, I mustered a weak smile and shook my head. "I got my periods and these cramps are from hell."

Ace's expression softened, and he let out a relieved sigh. "Cramps, huh? Those can be nasty."

I nodded, "Yeah, they kind of are ruining my life right now."

Ace's concern deepened as he witnessed me lurch out of bed and rush to the bathroom. He followed me in, concern etched on his face. I didn't have the energy to feel embarrassed as I emptied my stomach into the toilet, my body wracked with nausea.

Ace knelt beside me, gently holding my hair back as he rubbed soothing circles on my back. When I finally finished, I leaned back, washing my mouth with some water. "Well, that was attractive."

Ace chuckled softly, his thumb tracing comforting patterns on my back. "Don't worry about that, Alessa. It happens to the best of us. Are you feeling any better?"

I nodded, weakly. "Yeah, a little."

He helped me to my feet and led me back to the bedroom. "You should get some more rest. I'll make sure you have everything you need."

Without another word, Ace turned and left the room, returning a short while later with a tray in his hands. On it was a steaming cup of tea, a plate of chocolate chip pancakes.

"I thought this might help," he said, placing the tray on my lap.

I was touched by his gesture. It had been a long time since anyone had taken care of me like this. "Thank you, Ace."

He sat down on the edge of the bed, his eyes filled with concern. "Is there anything else I can do?"

I took a sip of the tea, the warmth soothing my cramps slightly. "Just stay with me for a while."

Ace nodded and reached for my hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. We sat there in comfortable silence, me nibbling on pancakes and him simply being there for me.

After a while, Ace couldn't help but say something. "Alessa, please, if there's anything else I can do to help, please tell me, I just want to make sure you're okay"

"Well," I began, giving him an exaggerated pout, "A back massage wouldn't hurt. Plus, I hear chocolate is a lifesaver during periods."

Ace's eyes widened, and he blinked at me in surprise before bursting into laughter. "Of course, Alessa. Turn around."

I turned around, and Ace began to massage my lower back with gentle, soothing motions. It felt heavenly, and I couldn't help but let out a contented sigh.

"Better?" he asked, his voice filled with concern.

"Mmm, keep doing that" I replied, relishing the relief his massage provided.

Ace got up and headed towards the door. "I'll be right back. I've got something that might make you feel even better."

He returned a little while later, carrying a plate of chocolates. He set it down on the bedside table, and I couldn't help but smile at the sight.

"Chocolate for my chocolate," he said with a wink.

I couldn't help but laugh at his cheesy line. "You're such a dork, Ace."

He grinned, "But I'm your dork."

I laughed at him, Throwing something at him which he ducked. Despite the pain, it turned out to be a surprisingly wonderful day, all thanks to Ace's efforts to make me feel better.

Maybe he didn't give them to me after all.

Just maybe.
