All I could smell was campfire and dog. My nose was burning and it was starting to become quite painful which I couldn’t understand because Sasha had smelt so sweet. I continued full speed into the darkness of the forest. I loved running this fast I really did but I had so much on my mind and I was scared. I was scared for my existence. I couldn’t lose everything I had worked so hard for my whole life and death. I couldn’t even bare to think about leaving my maker after he had waited so long for me. I knew that I had to put my mind and body into defense and survival mode.

I was getting closer, I could see the glare from the fires that they had going. I stopped dead in my tracks. Something inside me told me to stop and observe my surroundings which is exactly what I intended to do. My nostrils were burning from the powerful odor of werewolves. I had my senses hightend to their full abilities. I could not afford to make one mistake or wrong move. I could hear chanting, laughing, and howling like they were throwing some sort of party. Maybe it was a sacrifice. I wasn’t sure. I knew nothing about their heritage. I took a few deep breaths trying to calm my nerves. Of course it wasn’t working but hey it was worth the try right? Suddenly noise coming from the gathering had faded off. I saw a huge male standing in the middle of the group with only his arms raised to hush the crowd.

“We are gathered here to determine the punishment of a traitor!” He exclaimed with his deep booming voice.

His voice alone sent shivers down my spine that rattled my nonexistent soul.

“She was sleeping with a parasite! She was fucking the enemy! She cannot be trusted!” He yelled out.

The anger boomed through is words which was understandable he had been betrayed but he didn’t even know to what extent. Yet.

I saw Sasha with her head lowered so that her chin touched her chest. They had beaten her severely. I somehow managed to pick up her sweet scent which told me one thing, she was bleeding, badly. I knew I had to make my move in to mark my attack. I was trembling with fear. There was no way I could get to Sasha to let her free without being spotted by this pack. I slowly crept forward preparing for my death because I was sure that’s what was going to become of me. I was just begging to become puppy chow. It was practically a suicide mission. I walked confidently out into the opening. My head held high not sure what the hell was going to happen next.

They all separated making a path for me to take my place in the middle of the gathering. All eyes were glued on me. I stood about 25 feet away from the huge man that had been running the trial. He was the pack leader alpha male. He stood there frozen with a look of shock on his face. My expression matched his completely. I was living my vision and I don’t know if I’d ever be able to tell a story of such courageousness. This was my death and if I saved Sasha’s life then it was all worth it.

I put my hands up speaking with an assertive tone. “I come in peace.” I felt like a total alien speaking to earthlings.

Nobody moved a muscle. I could hear breaths and heart beats increase to a faster pace which meant one thing they were getting ready to close in. Next thing I knew I stood frozen feeling a hot breath upon my skin. It was like someone was holding a candle to my neck.

“Ahhh Misty. So you’re the little bitch that my brother wanted leading him to an early grave!” The alpha spoke and once again his voice rattled my very existence.“I must say you looked more appetizing when you had a heart beat, now you’re just a heartless, soulless, blood sucking murderer.” His voice rang at low decibels through my ears.

At this point I really hoped that my clan was on their way I don’t know how much longer I could prolong my death.  Anger filled me! This mutt didn’t know me from Adam. My lips pulled up at the corner revealing my fangs.

I finally spoke “If I was heartless I wouldn’t be here for the reason I am now would I?” I spit my words at him like venom.

I wanted so badly to get a clean shot at his throat but I knew he would taste horrible. I wanted to hurt him and cause him unbearable pain.

“For what reason are you here? Because I highly doubt you’re here to give your condolences seeing you’re the one that caused my brother’s death.” He said so hastily to me his words were bitter.

“I didn’t cause a damn thing. You’re brother had it coming.” I spit right back at him knowing my words would not only anger him but they would hurt and this little conversation might just buy me enough time and save my life.

Damn it where the hell where they? What was taking so long?

“Oh he did, did he? Well then I guess you have this coming.” He spoke with such darkness behind those words I knew something very bad was about to happen.

Next thing I knew I was flying through the air. I had flown about 50 feet before I had hit the tree next to the one Sasha was tied to. I heard bones crush and the pain was excruciating. I attempted to get to my feet to re-approach the bastard but I couldn’t move. I was in too much pain and my body wouldn’t start heeling faster until I was no longer a new born. Sasha looked down upon me as our eyes met. She had a glimmer of hope as she gazed at me. That’s when the slaying began.

My clan attacked from every side possible cornering the flea bags as they had done to me. I couldn’t help but take notice to everything just taking it all in. This was my first battle and I had successfully stalled the death of Jax’s lover. I had won. I saw wolf heads flying in every direction hearing blood curdling screams and bones being crushed it was amazing. Gun shots and pleas of sparing as the wolves were taking their last breaths. It was becoming harder to stay conscious and I didn’t know why.

The pain was incredible like every damn bone in my body had been crushed with just one slide of a paw. Fucking mutt deserved to die and I had succeeded I had won! WE had won.

Thor didn’t have to search for me he strolled right over to me kneeling to the ground with Jax right behind him untying Sasha from the tree next to me.

“Baby you did it! Are you ok? Misty.” I could hear the worry in his tone but it hurt to even try to speak I couldn’t I was in far too much pain.

Was I dying? What the hell was going to become of me if I couldn’t heal?

“Misty speak up love you have to tell me what’s wrong. I can’t pick you up until I know what hurts.” He said with such concern in his voice.

I could feel the worry and pain running through his body. He was scared. And in all honesty so was I. I didn’t know what was about to happen to me or if I would ever be the same.

“Everything” I whispered in a low tone but I know he heard it because as soon as he did tears filled his eyes.

“Stay with me Misty! Don’t you dare leave me. Look at me baby. It’s all going to be ok just hold on.” Thor pleaded and I tried really hard to hold on but the darkness started taking over I knew I was now surrounded by my clan but the only face I could see was Thor’s.

Before I knew it everything was completely black. My inner voice screamed at me ‘don’t you dare let go! You succeeded! You won! Hold on damn it!’ Then the voice disappeared and once again like so many times before, I was in the dark by myself.

I was in the black and I was alone.
