*Hours later*

I took a nap after the long breakfast Chris and I shared, waiting on my mother to return to home. It was odd for her to be this late or just randomly leave.

I hear the front door open and I run downstairs. "Mom! You were gone for so long!" I say hugging her. She has big sunglasses on, ones I've never seen on her, and she looks down at the floor and smiles, "Yes, it was traffic." She then goes to the kitchen unbags everything, and goes up to her room. Is she sick? She seemed perfectly fine. The questions stop as Chris enters the living room.

"Hey did my mom seem weird earlier this morning?"

"No, nothing I noticed."

"She's acting weird."

"Well I just said I didn't notice anything, do you not believe me or something?"

"I didn't say that.. I was just-"

"Do you not trust me?"

I'm so very confused.

"Chris are you okay?"

He smiles, and grabs me in for a kiss,

"I'm perfectly fine."
