November 2018

Caloy Enriquez met with Richard in a coffee shop of the building housing his new office. Richard chose to be transparent with Caloy about the whole Daniel brouhaha, especially now that it might involve Sheila.

"Good morning Richard. You mentioned on the phone this was urgent, what is it?"

"Mr. Enriquez, heads up ko lang kayo na yung previous partner ko mukhang may balak manggulo sa Foster Project natin." He narrated to him the details he got from Dei without revealing the source of information.

"Sir, medyo sensitive yung situation kasi baka magkabangga kami ni Sheila. Hawak po ni Sheila ang evaluation ng bids for the steel and aluminum frames, I don't want her to think na sinasaklawan ko yung jurisdiction niya."

"Richard, do what you have to do, mahirap masira tayo sa client natin, lalo pa at sikat na celebrity yan. Sheila should know better, trabaho lang ito eh. Bakit ka nag-aalala sa kanya? Is she already giving you cause for worry?"

"Sa trabaho po ok naman kami. Sa personal naman po, di naman kami nagkakasama kasi umiiwas po ako, dahil ayokong magworry ang asawa ko sa kanya. Di naman po kaila sa inyo na may past kami ni Sheila pero pinipilit ko pong hindi maka-affect yun sa trabaho at sa personal na buhay namin."

"Thanks for alerting me Richard, might as well be extra careful na rin sa iba nating materyales. Sabihan mo na din yung sa Batangas project natin. If Sheila gives you trouble, tell me. Akong kakausap sa kanya."

"Sige po sir. Ayoko lang kasi kumilos ng basta. I had to let you know."

The coordination meeting started early, to resolve the issues before Alvin arrived for the client check on work in progress. All the engineers, Quality Assurance team and Sheila were present, as well as the contractor representatives. Richard presided over the meeting and finished ahead all the items with no issues so that the people concerned can immediately go back to work. They were down to the last item which was the steel and aluminum frames for the glassworks.

"Sheila, I asked Engineer Romero to check the steel frames delivered by Oriental. May nakalusot na sub-standard bars sa batch that they delivered kaya pina-hold ko na yung ibang batches for delivery. Bayaran lang natin in full yung first batch, less yung substandard, ipasoli natin. They might argue na di nila stock yun, na baka nahalo yung substandard dun sa talagang delivery nila. Mapipilitan tayong bayaran pati yung substandard kung ganon. Pero hanggang unang batch na lang tayo, I don't want to risk na magkaroon pa ulit ng next batch na may problema."

"But I checked them out, ok naman silang supplier ha. In fact I used them in a previous project, di ako nagkaproblema sa kanila."

"Were you talking to the same person in your previous project and this one? Baka naman iba na humahawak ng account mo ngayon."

"Oo iba na pero would it matter? It would be the same stock involved, hindi dapat issue kung sino humahawak ng account."

"Who's handling the account now?"
