I laid in bed, a cup of tea in one hand and my phone in the other, scrolling through the photos in my camera roll. I smiled to myself as I saw the photos of him. I missed him more than anything and it had only been one day. The game was being played tomorrow night, and he'd be home the next day. I couldn't wait to see him.

Opening Instagram, I tapped to create a new post.

Closing down the app, I took one final sip of my drink and placed my cup down on the side. Glancing at the clock, I sighed to myself. It was only half 7 but I was already considering going to bed. As I pulled the duvet up to my neck, my phone started to ring. I picked it up in a flash and answered the FaceTime call, his face appearing on the screen in seconds.

"Aleks." I breathed, "I miss you."

"I miss you too, beautiful." He responded. "How's your day been? The photos looked good for the girls."

"Fine." I nodded. "Are you ready for tomorrow?"

"I think so." He nodded back at me. "I wish you were here with me. Instead I'm sharing a room with John." My heart started to race at the mention of his name. "He snores so loudly, he kept me awake most of the night."

"Why are you sharing with John?" I asked.

"Why not?" He laughed. "He's here actually, want to say hi?" Before I had the chance to refuse, John's face appeared on the screen, a smile across his cheeks.

"Hi, Pops."

"Hi." I said. "I see you're sharing with Aleks."

"I am indeed." He nodded. "Do you miss me?"

I rolled my eyes. Did he not care that Aleks was right there?

"No." I said. "Can I speak to my boyfriend now please?"

"If you must." The phone was shoved back to Aleks. We spoke on the phone for a while before he said he had to go. We exchanged "I love yous" and I hung up the phone. Aleks and John had never been close, and I didn't want them to start getting close now. It was just another way for John to worm his way into my life. Sighing to myself, I laid back down and closed my eyes, drifting off into a deep sleep.
