Chapter 30

Greg’s POV

Kasalukuyan siyang naninigarilyo sa veranda ng biglang tumunog ang kanyang cellphone. It was a text from Kristina.

From: Kristina

Time: 09:27 am

Date: June 15, 2012

Good Morning! You didn’t return my call last night? Everything alright?

Napabuntong-hininga siya ng malakas. He was in the middle of talking with Kristina last night ng bigla niyang nakita si Gaby, peeking inside the kitchen. Narinig kaya nito na ito mismo ang pinag-uusapan nila ni Kristina kagabi?

He had been battling his desire for her ever since the day he saw her sleeping peacefully in his yatch. Alam niyang pagod na pagod ito kaya hindi nalang niya ito pinukaw. He was already contented in staring at her face.

Nang dumating na sila dito sa isla ay mas lalong sumidhi ang kanyang nararamdaman para sa asawa. Aangkinin niya na sana ito ng unang araw nila doon when he overheard Manang Linda and her talking about napkins and menstruation sa kwarto nito. Now he was having doubts of bedding his wife.

He contacted Kristina and asked about the woman’s menstrual cycle. Sabi naman nito, it would take 3 days up to 1 week bago matapos ang period ng isang babae. Now he was confused kung kelan nga nagsimula ang period ni Gaby. There were times when he really wanted to asked her if when her period started but it sounded awkward so he remained silent.

Nung pangatlong araw nila sa isla ay nakita niya itong lumabas sa kwarto habang umiinom siya ng kape sa sala. She was still wet from the shower. He actually smelled the vanilla soap she used even if they were a few feet away. Nakapulupot ang isang tuwalya sa katawan nito, giving him the liberty of having a glimpse of her perfectly-shaped long legs.

That time ay talagang pinigilan niya ang kanyang sarili na hilahin ito and knock her out with his hungry kisses. Ilang gabi na din siyang hindi nakatulog ng maayos. Just by the thought of knowing his own wife at the next bedroom, warm and soft in bed, ay nakakawala na ng antok.

Pinapakita niyang wala na siyang interes of bedding her. He gave her cold stares and only used a one-tone voice. No passion. No desire. Pero hindi niya napigilan ang sarili nang pumunta sila sa Hagimit falls. Seeing her wearing a simple black sando and cotton shorts made his body’s temperature shot up into few notches. She looked utterly sexy and pretty.

He was in the middle of an argument with Adam on the phone dahil sa katangahan nitong umiinom ng alak habang nagmamaneho nang marinig niyang sinigaw ni Gaby ang pangalan niya.

She was perfectly still. Her face was a mixture of fear and irritation. Kaya naman nilapitan niya kaagad ito. When he knew about the snake ay hindi na siya nag-dalawang isip at tulungan ito. But he didn’t plan on being the one who will get it out of her shorts.
