I really just wanted to sleep for as long as I could but I knew that wasn't going to happen. I was a nocturnal creature so it would be a while before I slept.

I got up and found my headphones, connected them to my phone, then blared the music in my ears. I was trying to drown out my thoughts. I let the music invade my mind, but the lyrics only made me think of her.

"But as you sleep, and no one is listening, I will lift you off your feet, I'll keep you from sinking, Don't you wake up yet, cause soon I'll be leaving you, Soon I'll be leaving you, but you won't be leaving me."

Aahh damn it.

I sat up, yanking the headphones from my ears and tossing them across the room.

I knew what I was about to do was stupid and kind of stalkerish...okay, a lot stalkerish, but I need to see her. Just wanted to know what she was doing. Just wanted to see her for a minute, then I would come home.

I told myself it was fine, that I could control myself. This wasn't a big deal. I just needed to see her one more time, show myself that she wasn't this goddess that I believed her to be, and I would be able to get her out of my head. Definitely didn't want to talk to anyone about it, or answer any questions on where I was going.

Sam was a nosy fucker. I know he worried about me, ever since what happened with Emilie...but he was like an overbearing parent sometimes. I couldn't handle it.

Sliding the window in my room up, I grabbed my beanie and pulled it over my head, before I deftly jumped over the edge. I bent my legs, landing in a pounce stance, before standing straight.

Looking around, I made sure no one saw me. Didn't feel like compelling people right now. Just wanted to go see her.

I didn't worry about my car. I Left my keys inside anyways, so I jumped the gate, and started running as soon as I was out of sight.

The wind felt amazing, clearing my head. I loved running as fast as I could go.

I made it to Chloe's apartment complex in minutes and scaled the side of the wall, swinging from the balconies with ease. I wasn't sure exactly which one was hers but I knew that she lived next to Kat and I knew what floor Kat lived on so I checked those first.

I glanced into the first glass door, but the lights were out, all dark. There was no one up, but I could see ceramic dolls placed around the room. That was creepy even for me. Chloe didn't seem like a doll kind of girl to me. I moved on to the next one.

A young guy sat on a couch, his arm wrapped around a pretty brunette. They were watching tv, but I could smell the sex from here. He only had one thing on his mind.

I checked a couple more balconies, and was starting to lose hope, when I saw her.

She was sitting cross-legged on her couch, laptop in her lap, typing away furiously at the keyboard. Her face was screwed up in concentration, her forehead creased. I wanted to smooth those wrinkles away.

I hopped up onto her balcony and stood there for a moment watching her. If she looks this way, she'll be able to completely see me. Why did I kind of want her to?

She would freak out though. I didn't even understand why I was doing this. This was too far.

I was stalking this girl and I didn't even know her. I wanted to kill her, but keep her safe at the same time.

I saw her body stiffen, so I grabbed the drain pipe next to me, and used it to climb up to the next balcony. Sure enough, the glass door slid open a few minutes later, and she stepped outside. I leaned over the balcony that I was on, wanting to get closer, to be nearer to her.

Her pale skin glowed in the city lights, and her scent trailed over the wind straight to me. God, it was so intoxicating. I could actually get drunk off of it.

She sighed, and wrapped her arms around herself.

I had too. Just once. I had to taste her lips.

I jumped down, landing softly behind her, my breath escaping as I did. She turned, and met my gaze. I didn't give her time to react, just grabbed her arms and pulled her close, pressing my lips against hers.

Oh, it was better than I imagined. Her full lips moved with mine, opening under my own, letting me taste her. The feeling was intense, powerful even. Her scent filled every sense that I had, enveloping me in a cloud of...her.

I felt her arms travel around my neck, her nails scratching lightly at my skin. I grabbed her hips and pulled her even closer, then locked my arms at her lower back. I wanted to taste her, to let my teeth break through that soft skin.

Damn it all to hell, I heard Katrina unlocking the door. I broke the kiss, and grabbed her face, making her meet my gaze. Her breath was coming in short, fast gasps.

"You won't remember this." I jumped over the balcony, to the one directly below hers.

I waited to see if my quick compulsion worked. I hated doing that, because I could never be sure that it was strong enough. I didn't want to compel her at all...but Kat messed it up.

She didn't push me away. She opened herself to me like she wanted me as badly as I wanted her.

Sam couldn't have let Katrina hang out for just a few more minutes? I watched as she walked back inside, answering Kat's question.

"Those weirdo friends of yours have me on edge for some reason."

Weirdos, huh? I laughed quietly in the dark.

Kat started explaining that the gang wasn't as bad as they seemed, speaking of everyone...except me.

"What about Colby?" Chloe asked, timidly.

This feeling that I can't even describe flared up inside of my chest. She asked about me. She shouldn't be asking about me though.
