There was something about his blue eyes, with the unusual silver ring that seemed familiar to me, even drawing me to him for some reason that I couldn't even begin to understand. He looked almost anxious, sucking his lower lip under his top teeth before speaking again.

"Um, if you don't mind, would you allow me to buy you lunch? To apologize for yesterday." His eyes looked so sincere as they stared into mine, causing me to forget how to breathe.

I sucked in a deep breath, unable to break eye contact with this unfairly attractive man.

How was he even real? This shouldn't be legal. I shook my head at him, unable to speak.

"Please." He continued, his deep voice pleading with me, making me feel like I should do anything that he asked of me.

"I-I can't. You" I dropped my voice down into a strained whisper. "You broke into my apartment and harassed me! How do I know that you won't hurt me? Or that you're not stalking me right now? This is just too weird! I should call the cops."

He sighed and stepped back away from me. "I'll try to explain, if you'll let me. We can go somewhere public and you can drive yourself. That way you don't have to be alone with me."

I saw pain flash through his very emotional eyes then, and his face fell. As much as my common sense was telling me that this was a bad idea, as much as I knew that this might be one of the stupidest things that I had ever done...my mouth seemed to act on it's own accord.

My eyes widened when I heard the words that fell out of that treacherous hole in my face.

"Okay, fine. Where do you want to meet?"

His own eyes widened in shock, like he couldn't believe it either. "Um, your choice, I guess. Wherever you want. I'll pay." He replied eagerly, licking his lips nervously.

Nervousness didn't suit him.

He seemed over confident so this side of him just didn't seem...right.

"How about that coffee shop Nordstrom? I heard they were pretty good."

Again, his eyes grew in shock and he shook his head hastily. "N-no, they suck actually. I've been there. The coffee is crap and the donuts have mold on them."

I didn't understand why he looked so scared about the place but okay. Maybe he had gotten sick or something from eating something there. I bit my lower lip thinking, and noticed his eyes shoot down to my mouth, before they dragged back up to meet my gaze again.

I actually felt the need to clench my legs from the heated gaze that he was giving me, but I controlled myself.

Jesus, what was wrong with me?!

Here was this guy that had quite literally busted my door down, fixed it in an unreasonably fast amount of time, cornered me against the wall, demanding that I remember him, when I had never met him...and I was going out to lunch with him? I was literally asking him to kill me at this point. I started to decline his offer again, listening to my subconscious for a second when he took my hand, making my breath hitch in my throat.

The feel of his cool skin against mine sent electricity shooting along every vein in my body, and I gasped, yanking my hand away. Again, the hurt look passed over his face as he held my gaze but he covered it quickly.

"I'm sorry, I won't touch you again." He replied curtly.

Why did that sound familiar? I ignored it.

"How about the little sandwich shop around the corner then? I think it's called 'The Chicken Salad Chick' or something like that." I replied, putting my hands nervously behind my back so that he didn't grab them again.

I might literally just jump into his arms if he did. I was already being stupid enough, didn't need to add embarrassment to the list.

He nodded.

"Okay, sounds good. When's your lunch break?"

I furrowed my eyebrows. "I actually don't know. This is my first day. Let me check."

I started to walk back into Mr. Roberts office when Lilly spoke up. "Your break is at noon. Lucky you, it's already 11."

I smiled at her, knowing that I was blushing. "Thank you." I replied gratefully.

I really didn't want to ask that question on my first day, rather wanting to wait until my boss told me to take my break. She nodded her head at me swiftly, then resumed whatever it was she was doing on her computer, but not before scowling a little at the stranger's back. Oh, she liked him.

I could understand why. I mean, he was blatantly flirting with her before I came and messed it up for her. I sighed, not wanting to make an enemy out of a coworker so quickly.

"Great!" I heard the guy exclaim enthusiastically.

My eyes shot back to him, and I swear I almost fainted from the amount of happiness on his face. The smile that spread across it, combined with his lifted cheeks and those dimples popping out had me quite literally weak in the knees.

I'm surprised they didn't buckle underneath me.

"I'll meet you at the Chicken Salad Lady or whatever in an hour."

He leaned forwards a bit, like he was going to kiss me, and I froze, my heart pounding in my throat, choking me. He stopped before he reached me and frowned for a second before the smile was back.

"See you then." He lifted his hand in a wave and walked towards the exit.

"Wait!" I yelled.

He turned back expectantly.

"I thought you had an appointment to see Mr. Roberts."

Confusion crossed his face for a second. "Oh, I do. Lilly, can you reschedule that for me?" He asked silkily, smiling at the receptionist.

Her disgruntled expression turned to one of enamored affection as soon as his eyes met hers.

"Yeah, absolutely. You can see him." She clicked around on her computer for a second.
