The date continued and was wonderful and uninterrupted. Whenever it did end however, I had to leave the safety of our charmed circle and walk back to the castle by myself. Once I got back however, I didn't have time to be upset and think about it for long because I was immediately in the library, studying once more. And all my studying paid off, because I passed my exams with all O's. But before I knew it, the school year ended and everyone was on the Hogwarts express, leaving. I sat in a compartment with Hugo, Lily, Dominique, and Scorpius. Albus and Harley had- "gotten a room" I suppose, and so Scorpius was sitting with us. Hugo kept breathing heavily and fidgeting, and I was torn between pity and annoyance. "Hugo, is something wrong?" I asked sharply as he continued to tap his foot and look out the window with nervous glances. He jumped at the sound of his name. "Um- no, I'm fine." He said quietly. Lily patted Hugo on the shoulder and whispered something in his ear I couldn't hear, but it seemed to help Hugo because he took a deep breath and stopped taping his foot. "Lily- may I speak with you?" I asked. Lily looked suspicious, but nodded her head slowly. I walked out of the compartment followed by my cousin. "Okay, tell me." I said firmly. Lilly looked taken aback, "tell you what?" She asked. I sighed heavily, "what's bothering Hugo so much?" I asked. Lily looked away from my eyes, "I don't know what your talking about." She said firmly. I would have believed her too if she didn't look away from my gaze. "Lily, I already know he's gay. You can tell me what's happening, maybe I can help." I said quietly. Lilys eyes widened at my words, "but how did you-" she began to say, "Harley caught him and his boyfriend in a snog fest." I said simply. She closed her mouth and shot our compartment door a nervous glance. She looked back at me and whispered, "Hugo is thinking about coming out, the day of the wedding. He's hoping everyone will be in such a party mood that they won't mind so much." I nodded my head, "maybe, but just let him know that he's our family, and we would never look at him differently because of this." I said quietly, but firmly. Lily nodded her head and walked back inside the compartment, I followed. Scorpius shot me a look, wrote down something on a piece of parchment, put the parchment in his pocket, and walked out mumbling "I'm going to go look for Al." I sat down and felt a tingle in my pocket. I pulled out the glowing parchment and read,
"Meet me by the bathrooms- SM"
I folded the parchment and put it in my pocket. "Hey, I'm hungry. Do any of you want something?" I asked. They all shook their head and continued conversing with one another. I got up and left and started walking towards the bathroom. Scorpius was leaning against the wall cooly, watching people pass by him. I leaned against the opposite wall to look at him, so as to not look suspicious. "What's up?" I whispered. "Why is your brother so worried?" He asked quietly. I looked around to make sure no one was listening, got closer, and whispered, "Hugo is- um- well, Hugo is coming 'out' this summer." To my surprise Scorpius didn't even look fazed. "Finally, I wondered how long he was going to hide it." Scorpius sighed, shrugging his shoulders. My mouth dropped, "you KNEW?" I asked in shock. Scorpius nodded his head with wide eyes, "you couldn't tell?" He asked. I shook my head, "I didn't know there were signs you could see." I whispered. Scorpius laughed and rolled his eyes, "Honestly Rose." He said quietly. Suddenly the compartment across from us opened and Albus and Harley stepped out. I went stiff as I looked at them, but Scorpius kept his cool. "Hey Al." He said blankly. Albus waved and looked from me to Scorpius. "What um- are you two doing out here?" He asked. Scorpius shrugged his shoulders, "just talking." He said simply. Harley and I shared a look of panic. "Since when do you two- 'talk'" he asked with raised eyebrows. Scorpius rolled his eyes and forced a laugh, "honestly Al, we arnt as childish as you think. We don't always fight." He said with a wave of his hand. Albus gave us a suspicious look, "I guess not..." He said slowly. "Hey Rosie, mind getting food with me?" Harley asked suddenly. I nodded my head and followed behind her. "That was- erm, weird." Harley said quietly as we walked down the corridor towards the food cart. I nodded my head slowly, "I think this is his plan." I said quietly, Harley gave me a confused look. "I think this is his way of easing the idea onto Al. To make Al comfortable with the idea of us being friends, and then letting him know we are more." I said quietly as we passed a group of giggling girls. Harley nodded her head slowly, "it might work, but I don't know..." She said as we stopped in front of our compartment door. "He's stubborn, your cousin." She added with a sigh. "Well come on, I expect we'll be arriving soon." I said as we entered the compartment. Hugo was gone, and Lily and Dominique were talking about the wedding that was going to take place at the burrow in a week. "Wheres Hugo?" I asked, looking at Lily as I sat down across from my cousins. She waved her hand, "off talking to a friend he wants to invite to the wedding." Lily said casually, but I saw her eyes dart towards me knowingly. I nodded my head and started to listen to their conversation. "Victorie said she found the perfect dresses for us to wear to the wedding, all though I don't know how. We all have so many different hair colors it's just insane." Dominique sighed. I rolled my eyes, I was never one to really care about fashion, let alone dresses. Dominique looked at me and Harley, then towards the door. "Where's Scorpius?" She asked with a frown. I felt my fist clench but luckily Harley had my back. "Oh, he's off with Albus." Harley said quickly. Dominique frowned, "I really was hoping my flirting would make him like me. Do you think he's dating someone els?" She asked. Harley coughed, "well uh- maybe he is." I said awkwardly. Dom's eyes widened. "Really? Like dating in secret?" She said in a hushed tone. I shrugged my shoulders, "it could happen." I said awkwardly, not knowing what I might have just started. Dominique sat up straight and looked deep in thought, "It could be Daisy, she does follow him around like a lost puppy..." She said quietly to herself. Harley busted out laughing. "What? It could be!" Dom said. Harley shook her head, "yea right! Malfoy wouldn't want her as a pet let alone a girlfriend." Harley said with a laugh. Dominique nodded her head in agreement, then went back to silent thinking. Lily was reading a book, ignoring our conversation. The train ride continued that way until we reached Kings Cross station. Some reason I was scared to step off the train, like the moment I did, everything would be over. "Rose, are you going to get out of the way or are you going to block the door all day?" Lily said irritably as I stared at the compartment door as if it was a large spider. "Right- sorry." I took a shaky hand and opened the door. I began to glide down the corridor, not really seeing where I was going. "Rose? Are you ok?" I heard Harley ask next to me. I nodded my head and continued to walk. I finally made it out of the train, and was on platform 9 3/4. I saw the familiar red hair of my family, but the problem was that I also saw a man with grey eyes and sleeked back platinum blonde hair mixed in the red. I ran up to my family to see Mr. Malfoy was having a conversation with uncle Harry. My uncle gave a curt nod, and turned away from the man. Mr. Malfoy shot me a cold look and walked away. "What was that about?" I asked, and I was surprised by how my voice didn't sound like my voice at all. "Scorpius will be staying with his family for the week, until the wedding." He said casually. I felt my body go stiff, was that safe? I turned around so my eyes could follow Mr. Malfoy, who was waiting quite still by the train. I saw Scorpius walk out of the train, spot his father, and his smile vanished. He walked up stiffly, I saw his father say something, Scorpius caught my eye, and the two platinum haired men turned around and left. "Rose? Rosie? ROSE!" I turned around at the sound of my name. My mother was waiting for me to get a move on, as my family had begun to walk towards the car. I picked up Romeo, and began to walk towards my family. All I could think about is why would his father want to keep him home for the week? He's never done that before... Did his father know something? My thoughts continued to swim in my mind the entire ride to the Burrow.
