"We'll do it!" we said at the same time.

"We're not sure whether we can or not, but we'll do it!" Eren determinedly told Commander Pixis.

Pixis gave us a closed-eye smile and nodded, which I personally found adorable of him.

Pixis reached out and patted out shoulders. "Well said. You're quite the man, Recruit Yeager." he said, he then ruffled my hair and stood up.

"Staff officers, assemble! Prepare to strategize!" Pixis ordered the other soldiers.

I lowered my head, trying to hide my smile. "Avengerrsss, assemble!" I thought and covered my mouth.

"This is probably not the time to think about something like this, but I can't help it."

"What? Seriously? Calling this a plan 'optimistic' would be an understatement. How can we just go ahead with it?" I heard Armin say.

I stopped covering my mouth and looked at them.

"I agree with you, but it's pointless to question his decision." Eren suddenly said, making the three of us look at him.

"I'm sure Commander Pixis can see something we can't." Eren said.

"Something we can't see?" Armin muttered out.

"Besides, there's probably a fundamental issue to deal with before executing the plan. I'm sure the Commander is fully aware of that." Eren said.

"Which means..."

"The Titans aren't our only enemies." I said before Eren did and looked at the broken gate.

I sent Eren a side glance, he was already looking at me and he nodded. I hear Armin silently let out a gasp.

"Time is of the essence." Pixis said behind us and we looked at him.

Eren stood and helped me up, I silently thanked him and we approached the Commander.

"We have a role for you to fulfil, young soldiers." Pixis said.

"It's said that before the Titans claimed dominance of the land, mankind was locked in endless bloody battles over different in race and ideals." Pixis said as we walked, Eren was holding my right hand while at it.

"Supposedly someone said then, "If something beyond man appeared before us as a powerful foe, mankind will take up arms together in unity." " Pixis said and quoted.

"What do you make of that?" Pixis questioned.

"There's a legend like that? Well, it seems rather optimistic. Doesn't interest me, though." Eren said and looked at me.

"Erm... I don't know... it's hard to say that humanity is united.." I said and looked away.

"Unfortunately..."

Pixis laughed and glanced at Eren, he then looked at me and hummed. "Hm. That's true." he said.

"Your character's quite cynical, much like myself." he told Eren.
