the train rocked gently as it moved.
i sat next to an elderly woman who had fallen asleep to the lull of the train.
the movement came to a halt, prompting her to wake and step off at the station.
i pushed my earphones in but was interrupted by someone in front of me.
"is this seat taken?"
i looked up into the face of the girl from earlier, bright and blue-green and glowing.
i shook my head and watched as she sat down beside me.
what is happening?
people don't ask to sit by me.
"what are you listening to?"
she was refreshing -
the way she spoke, sat up straight and smiled gently.
i was fairly aware of my terrible posture as i pulled out the earphones.
"the ocean," i replied.
when she raised an eyebrow i added, "it's relaxing."
and it somehow reminds me of you.
