i was blushing
but so was she.
the excitement in the pit of my stomach was boiling up to my throat
almost as though i might cry out in happiness
but i didn't.
we held our hands together for an eternity
just savouring the moment
beneath the moon and stars
creating a galaxy of our own
as the blues and greens mixed together
the ocean washing over me with quiet energy.
this is happening.
it's happening.
i had my suspicions
but now i know
that i like a girl
i can like a girl.
i like Midori.
the realisation
so strong
so sudden
knocked the breath out of my lungs.
but then my first thought was:
what will Otousan think?
then,
what will other people think?
but when i looked back at Midori
with her long hair falling over her shoulders
blowing gently in the breeze
and the contented expression on her face
i pushed the thoughts out of my mind.
i needed this moment to last
as long as it could.
Midori.
i'm so glad i met you.
