I feel my phone buzz and I pull it out from my pocket.

New message from Stranger

11:30 a.m.

Hi, babe.

How are you on this beautiful day?

Once I read over an specific word, an unknown smile makes it's way to my lips.

11:32 a.m.

Babe?

11:33 a.m.

Yeah!

I decided that I'm going to use all the terms of endearment and figure out which ones I like to call you. So today you are babe.

11:34 a.m.

And tomorrow?

11:35 a.m.

Not telling.

11:36 a.m.

To make this a little less weird, just answer me this, are you a girl or a boy?

I have a guess, but I could be wrong.

11:37 a.m.

Hmm, what's your guess?

11:38 a.m.

11:39 a.m.

I think I'm crying. *wipes imaginary tear*

I scoff at her response.

So she's a girl. That's nice.

As soon as I read the message, I roll my eyes.

I smirk at her answers.

That's not weird at all.

You know, I would appreciate it if you stopped texting me.

Trying to get rid of me so soon?

Eh, I have magic powers.

Nah, just kidding. My spidey sense was tingling.

But babe, I will tell you that you're not getting rid of me anytime soon. I'm here to stay.

And why would you want to get rid of me?

11:52 a.m.

You really are a strange person.

I shake my head.

"Your girlfriend?" I turn to the voice and I see Nate looking at me pointing to the phone on my hands.

"Oh, no. She's not. Never." I quickly reply.

Nate gives me a knowing look. "Hmm, if you say so. I wouldn't say, never. Judging by the way you keep smiling at your phone."

I open my mouth to reply, but I come up with nothing.

Nate just laughs.

"See, don't say never." He says giving me a pat on the back.

He is about to turn around, but stops midway.

"James?" He asks.

"Yeah?" I reply, quickly glancing back my phone.

"She seems to make you smile a lot. And I would say whoever she is, she's making you happy" As soon as he is done I push him off and he laughs loudly.
