ROSEANNE

Minutes passed as I stayed on the floor with my arm against my chest in an attempt to cover my body.

And I cried.

I cried until I felt the energy drain from my body.

With shaky legs, I use my good arm to lift myself up from the cold floor underneath me. Once I'm standing, I press my back to the wall behind me in an attempt to stop the floor from swaying.

I close my eyes and take a deep breath before opening them once again.

Bringing a hand to my shirt, I struggle to button it up as my fingers tremble in shock while the events from a few minutes ago flash through my mind.

I feel his fingers brush against my skin.

And I clench my fist as a chill travels through my body.

Taking deep breaths, I breathe in and out until I manage to calm down.

I'm fine.

Glancing down to the floor, I see my blazer.

The one he removed from my body.

Reaching down, I pick it up.

But I simply stare at it, unable to put it on.

No, Scott! Please.

I shut my eyes as I hear my own voice pleading him to let me go.

He was gone, but I could still fill his touch on my body, his breath fanning my face.

Like a memory imprinted on my mind.

Refusing to be forgotten.

Despite my struggle, I manage to put my blazer on.

Wiping my face, I pick up my bag from the floor and place it over my shoulder.

Now I just needed to open the door and leave.

But the hand that was wrapped around the cold knob couldn't move. It was frozen in fear.

Could he still be out there?

He let me go this time, but would there be a next time?

My breath hitches in anxiety and I have to think about something that makes me happy.

James.

His laugh.

His jokes.

Distracted by my thoughts, I slowly turn the knob and the door opens slowly.

I wait for a sound.

Any sign that would force me to hide.

But there was nothing.

Peeking out from the door, I immediately step out into the hallway.

No one was in sight.

Everyone was in their respective places.

As the door shuts I make my way to the restroom in a hurry.

The restroom door echoes at my push, but I pay no attention to it.

My feet immediately lead me to the mirror in front of the sink.

My reflection.

I needed to see it.

With a shaky breath and beating heart, I bring my eyes to the reflection in front of me.
