Gossip got around Hogwarts fast

Gossip got around Hogwarts fast. And Tori meant fast.

Sirius Black has been captured. He was going to be given a dementor's kiss. She shuddered when she had first heard if that. A fate worst than death itself. Once "kissed" by a dementor, one's soul leaves the body forever. Anyone can continue living without a soul, but they forget who they are, who their family is... how to feel.

Sirius Black had escaped away. He just disappeared. Tori didn't know exactly what to believe anymore. The Daily Prophet had a field day with that. Anyone who disliked the Minister used this has the opportunity to say something. But at that moment, a murder running free was the least of Tori's problems.

"Come on Tori, just open it," Angelina told the girl as she stared ahead at her unopened O.W.L.S. results. "I can't. I might throw up." Angelina sighed, narrowing her dark brown eyes. "You've studied harder than any of us if I got six O.W.L.S, you definitely did!"

"Yeah! Worst you could get is two, which is one less than Georgie and I!" Fred replied, reading over his sheet again. Tori made a face, "You're not helping."

"That was the intention."

She sighed, slowly opening her paper. She could feel the eyes of her friends on her back staring into her soul almost. The letter began by listing all of the passing and failing grades, but Tori skipped down to what she wanted— or needed— to know.

VICTORIA BEATRICE SILVERS HAS ACHIEVED...

ASTRONOMY: E
CARE OF MAGICAL CREATURES: O
CHARMS: O
DEFENSE AGAINST THE DARK ARTS: O
HERBOLOGY: O
HISTORY OF MAGIC: E
MUGGLE STUDIES: O
POTIONS: O
TRANSFIGURATION: O

"Merlin's beard." She muttered to herself, staring at the paper. Fred stood up, taking it from her hands. "Hey! Give that back—"

"Nine O.W.L.S! Nine! And one in Potions! Potions!" Nine O.W.L.S. She was able to take all her N.E.W.T. classes! She was going to be an Auror! Fred stopped, looking at it once more. "Your middle name is Beatrice?"

"Bloody hell, yes." She said, standing on a chair in order to take it out of his hands. "It's a family name." She sat down in her chair, a feeling pride filling her chest. Sure, it's wasn't perfect. But it was more than Tori had wanted. Her friends immediately started comparing to see what classes they'd have together.

The only classes Tori would be sharing with the twins were Defense Against the Dark Arts and Charms. She and George would have Transfiguration while Fred and she had Herbology. George explained it as they didn't really try. "If we're going to start making inventions, we don't need O.W.L.S. to start Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes."

"Weasley's Wizarding Wheezes?" Tori asked them with a raised eyebrow. This was the first she had heard of the name for the shop. Both Fred and George had expressed their idea for a shop like Zonko's. Tori wholeheartedly supported them. Like herself, she could never imagine the twins at desk jobs in the ministry, or teachers. Joke shops were a huge hit, and the twins had some fantastic ideas. Tori even lent a few.

"You don't like the name?"

"No, I love it. It's... catchy. Oh, speaking of the shop, I've been meaning to tell you about this new idea I had. It's like something long to listen to other's conversations... like... like... like an extendable ear!"

"Extendable ears... Georgie, write that down. Now, tell us more."

Tori was also rather upset to find out Professor Lupin had to leave. She decided to bring him some chocolate before he had left the school. She entered his office before the feast to see Harry there too.

"Oh. Sorry to interrupt Professor... I just wanted to give you this." She handed the teacher the box of chocolate before crossing her arms. "I don't think it's fair you have to leave, even if you're... a werewolf."

Professor Snape took it upon himself to tell the school about Lupin's secret. Tori didn't think that was fair, especially considering how he portrayed them. "Everyone loves your class, you make it more interesting."

Harry nodded, mimicking Tori's posture by crossing his arms too. Professor Lupin sighed, putting the box of chocolate in one of his trunks. "Students might like me, but their parents won't. But don't fret. I have a feeling this won't be the last time I see either of you. Thank you for the chocolates, Tori."

There was a quiet knock at the door and Dumbledore entered. He didn't seem surprised to see either of the students there. "Remus, your carriage awaits."

Lupin nodded, picking up his trunk. "Goodbye, Harry, Tori. You don't need to worry about bringing me to the door, headmaster. I'm sure I can find my way."

They watched him leave sadly. Tori really liked Professor Lupin and was hoping somehow he'd be able to stay. "Miss Silvers, may I speak to Mr. Potter alone for a moment?" Dumbledore asked her.

Tori nodded, waving goodbye before hurrying down to the feast. Thanks to the points of the Quidditch cup, Gryffindor won once again for the third year in a row. The night ended in another celebration and the goodbyes of their seventh years.

Wood had broken the news that he'd been drafted to play keeper for Puddlemere United's reserve team. The team went ecstatic, congratulating him and punch him in the arm for "good luck." Meanwhile, Percy was headed to work for the ministry, like Avalon. It felt weird for him to be gone so soon.  It wasn't like he made Tori's life easier, but he was still her brother.

The express ride back was filled with ideas for the summer and the future year. Tori already could feel the stress between quidditch and her N.E.W.T.S. classes. The compartment was loud, as usual, but this time the tension ins the room felt different. But Tori couldn't figure it out.

She glanced over a Fred, who was giving her a confused look as Alicia was going on and on about some sort of Latin song, Tori smiled to herself, nodding along whenever Alicia turned towards her.

To tell the truth, Tori didn't know where she stood when it came to her feelings on Fred. She thought about it a lot, but couldn't understand it. It was so many feelings it was a bit overwhelming. So for now, Fred Weasley was, and always was Tori's best friend.

It was weird to think, five years ago, she had been completely friendless.
