There is nothing in front. Nothing back. My eyes and ears have never been that open before.  This is not my first time venturing out, but somehow each time seems worse. Because now I fucking know what I'm dealing with.

I proceed meticulously. Walking slowly along the wall. Being so fucking careful I don't stumble over something.

I'm so hungry. I'm tired as fuck too. It feels like all the muscles of my body have been tense for hours. Little did I know it probably have been hours by now. There is no way I could tell. I finally see a single glowing red light in the distance. There is some sort of bridge ahead. Parts of it have fallen down into the abyss, but there is still a path.

Yeah, a path of crumbly concrete and twisted beams of iron.

Then I fucking hear it.

It's just a faint and distant shallow breathing, but It’s enough to send cold shivers down my spine. I have to resist the urge to go for a blind sprint. Instead  I just freeze in terror. I feel like my body could never move again. My brain's running miles an hour. I can't fucking breathe. It's too loud! I'm being fucking too loud!

I'm gonna die.

I don't wanna die.

I'm not gonna die.

My lungs are burning. My body is now shaking, but my feet are set in stones. I feel like I'm gonna puke.
Just breathe! Just fucking breathe and relax!

It takes a long time before I get my cool back and my head stop spining. I'm covered in sweat.

The sound is constant. It did not spot me yet. It's coming from somewhere not far down the bridge. The very bridge I have to cross or I'll have to commit to starvation.
