I was not deployed in the inner ring anymore after that. That section of Exia was now reserved for researchers only. Apparently they resolved the problem of going on Exdiabus’ surface. Rumors were running about a quite reactive organic like matter that was abundantly found all over the planetoid.
It was a very unstable chemical like nothing we had ever seen before. The core of the planetoid was a dense concentrate of that and other metals. It created a field around the planetoid. When there was eruptions on its surface, all the particles and the energy would follow that field.
Or something like that. I don't really remember the explanations that well. It's all gibberish science stuff to me.
At some point, everybody not directly related to all the work that was done down there were moved elsewhere.
