The fall seems to have awakened Jacob. He's panicking. Here goes the crane!
Our rope caught it and miraculously didn't break at the impact. We are dangling uncontrollably.
There is another groan. When I look up, I see true nightmare.
The thing has multiple leg appendages stuck in the roof. Its body is moving by waves of fat chunks of skin. It's still attacking the vent and trying to eat the babies as much as the babies are trying to eat it.
I pull the rope a bit. It's stuck. Jacob's face and arms are covered in cuts. He is holding his neck where some blood is uncontrollably pouring.
That's not good.
I pull a bit harder. The rope seems now to be free. We are sliding down the crane to the ground level.
There are some other shrieks. Shades and silhouettes are moving in the shadow under us between the abandoned carcasses of machinery.
Looks like we made it to the exterior ring.
