I raise my head. Didn't expect the guy to successfully climb up to the open door. He throws a rope at me.
Didn't expect him to come back for me either.
I immediately start climbing. The tiny arms are pulling me backwards, leaving long lacerations on my legs. The babies are starting to climb up too, like spiders. They are way more agile than their grown up versions.
- C'mon!
The guy have his gun out. For a second I stupidly think he's gonna shoot me, but he fire instead at the little demons. It takes all my strength and lots of pain to finally crawl out.
- Watch out!
The guy takes out a grenade and throw it up instead of down. The tiny abominations are already reaching out.
- V…wha…t t… fu..ck?
He pull me back. The sound of the explosion is then followed with the one of old rusty metal grinding, finally giving up. The whole elevator up above just slam violently down, crushing all the remaining eggs and newborns demons.
Closing our way up so there is nothing but down in the unknown to go.
