Dangerous Love

Chapter 11

Tanet and Daw are inside a hidden shack half a kilometer away from the safe house.

Kla: You guys will wait here while I go and check on Veera.

Tanet: But

Kla: No. That's an order. If you want to help me, then you need to listen to me.

Tanet reluctantly agrees to Kla. Kla then goes to the corner of the shack and  digs out the sand and lifts a small safe buried underneath. He opens the safe and takes out couple of guns.

Kla: Here, keep these with you. You both remember how to use it, right?

Both Tanet and Daw nod their head. They were taught how to handle a gun by Veera and Kla while they were in college.

Kla: Alright. Use it if you find yourself in danger.

Tanet: Okay

Kla: Victor should be here with out men in an hour or less. Till then we need to hold the fort. Keep yourself safe. I will meet you soon.

Tanet: Hmm

Daw: Be safe

Kla: I will come back for you.

Daw: I love you.

Kla: I love you too.

Kla kisses Daw's forehead and walks out of the shack.

It's been 30 minutes since Kla left the shack. There is total silence outside which is interrupted by the sound of a boat. Tanet looks through the window of the shack and is able to identify Victor. He bought reinforcements with him. They are quickly heading towards the safe house armed and ready to fight. Suddenly they heard a gunshot sound and then everything goes silent. Tanet and Daw could no longer wait for Kla. So they ran towards the safe house holding the guns in their hands.

As they approached the safe house, they couldn't see anyone outside the house. So they sneaked in through the back of the house and quietly entered the house. They go into the kitchen as the living room is visible from there. Tanet could see few people lying on the ground while the rest are on their knees with their hands up. Veera sat on the couch looking at them coldly while Kla stood next to him with an angry expression on his face.

Suddenly Tanet saw a man approaching Veera from behind. He is holding a gun pointed at Veera. The man unlocks his gun and aims at Veera. Tanet runs and hugs Veera from behind before Daw could stop him or call for help. A loud gunshot sound is heard followed by a shriek.

Daw: TANET

Veera is stunned for a second when a body slumps on his back. He turns around and Tanet's body falls in his arms. Blood was coming out of Tanet's chest staining his arms.

Veera: TANET

Veera quickly takes off his shirt and applies pressure on the wound to stop the blood while Kla captures the guy who shot Tanet. Veera looks at him in anger as he holds Tanet's body close to his chest.

Veera: Take him to the warehouse and keep alive, barely alive. I want him to feel the pain before he dies.

Kla: Yes Boss

Kla asks his men to take the guy away.

Veera: Kla, call dad and get the chopper here.

Kla: It's already here Boss. Master Li had asked the chopper to follow our boat.

Veera: Then let's get moving.

Veera carries Tanet to the chopper while others follow them. Veera travels in the chopper along with Kla and Daw while the rest follow in the boat.

Inside the chopper:

Veera: Tanet, please don't sleep. You will be fine. We will reach the hospital soon.

Tanet: It..It hurts.

Veera: I know baby. Just hold on for some more time.

Tanet: I am feeling so sleepy Vee.

Veera: No..No..No. Just talk to me na baby. Say whatever you want to say.

Tanet looks at Veera with tears in his eyes.

Tanet: Vee

Veera: Hmm

Tanet: I didn't cheat on you or use you Vee.

Veera: I know. I trust you Tanet.

Tanet: I love you. I love you so much. I don't want to leave you. I don't want to die Veera.

Veera's eyes fill with tears.

Veera: Nothing will happen to you Tanet. I will not let you die. Please stay with me.

Tanet: I..I want to live with you Vee but..I don't think..

Veera: Shush..Nothing will happen to you. We are almost there Tanet.

Suddenly Tanet's body go limp in his arms and his eyes closes.

Veera: TANET
