Chapter 28

It's been a week since Veera left Thailand along with Rune and Sun. Tanet tried to remain calm and strong but as time went by without any updates from Veera, his resolve to remain strong started to wobble. He missed Veera and starts to imagine worst case scenarios. He started having nightmares and hardly ate or slept. Kla and Daw are really concerned for him and decides to speak with him.

In Tanet's room:

Tanet is sitting in the couch staring at his and Veera's photo on the wall.

Tanet's POV:

We look so happy in this photo. Are you okay Veera? Why didn't you call me even once? I miss you so much. Please be safe.

"Tanet"

Tanet looks towards the door and finds Kla and Daw standing at the entrance.

Tanet: Daw, Kla, why are you standing there? Come in.

They walk towards him and Daw sits next to him while Kla stands beside Daw.

Daw: How are you Tanet?

Tanet: I am okay.

Daw: Really? You have hardly been eating or sleeping since last 1 week. Dark circles have formed around your eyes. Tanet, you need to take care of yourself for Veera, for us.

Tanet: I...I am trying.

A tear drops from his eyes.

Tanet: I miss him. I have nightmares about something bad happening to him. I can't sleep. I wish, he just called us once.

Kla: I am sure he is avoiding calls considering ours and his safety.

Tanet: I know but what should I do with my heart that is missing him so much.

Daw hugs his friend trying to console him.

Tanet: How is Uncle Ming doing?

Kla: He is frustrated. Veera didn't disclose his plan to him and that is causing him distress. He has neither been sleeping or eating.

Tanet: Can I meet him?

Kla: Sure. Your presence may relieve some stress in his mind.

Tanet: Hmm

Tanet freshens up and goes to meet Mr.Li with Kla.

In the office room:

Ming Li is sitting in the room holding a glass of whiskey in his hand. Someone knocks on the door.

Ming: Come in

Kla enters the room followed by Tanet.

Kla: Master, Tanet wants to meet you.

Tanet walks forwards and greets Ming.

Tanet: Hello Uncle Ming.

Ming: Hello Son and It's Dad for you. You are my son's boyfriend and my future son-n-law.

Tanet: How are you Dad?

Ming: I am okay son. Just a bit stressed.

Tanet: Dad, you look tired. Are you not sleeping properly?

Ming looks at Tanet with a small smile.

Ming: You don't look like you got much sleep either.

Tanet looks at him awkwardly.

Tanet: I...

Ming: I know, you miss my son. I miss him too. But I guess, we need to trust him and try to live a normal life until he comes back.

Tanet: Hmm

Ming: Kla, please ask the servant to set the table for dinner. We will be at the dining table shortly.

Kla: Yes Master.

Kla exits the room leaving Tanet with Ming.

Ming: Let me freshen up a little. I will see you at the dining table.

Tanet: Yes Dad.

Tanet also exits the room and goes to the dining area.

At the dining table:

Everyone sat around the table in silence eating their food. Even though they tried to be cheerful, the atmosphere in the room remained gloomy.

Suddenly the front room opens with a bang and Rune enters the room along with Sun.

Kla: Rune, PSun

Rune's head is bandaged while Sun seem have bandage on his hand.

Kla and Daw runs towards them and holds them. They bring them towards the dining table and helps them sit down.

Kla: Rune, PSun, what happened? How did you get injured? Where is Veera?

Everyone looks at Rune and Sun for answers while they looks down maintaining silence.

Tanet: Rune

Rune looks at him and he is shocked to see tears in Rune's eyes.

Tanet: NO...NO..NO

Tanet holds Rune's collar and shakes him.

Tanet: Where is Veera? Tell me.

Kla and Daw try to hold Tanet but he pushes them away.

Tanet: Rune, PSun, tell me where is my Veera?

Rune: He...He is missing.

Tanet: No

Ming: What do you mean by he is missing? Tell me what happened.

Sun: He..He got into a fight with Prem and they...

Ming: They what?

Sun: They fell over the cliff into the sea.

Ming falls on the chair in shock while Kla and Daw looks at Tanet with tears in their eyes.

Sun: Prem's body was found by the police but Veera..

Everyone looks at Sun.

Sun: Veera is still missing.

As Sun finished his sentence, everyone hears a loud thud sound. They look in the direction of the sound and is shocked to see Tanet lying on the floor.

Everyone: TANET

Kla quickly picks up Tanet and lies him on the couch.

Ming: Someone call the doctor now.

Everyone looks at Tanet with tears in their eyes as he lie there unconscious murmuring Veera's name.
