Chapter 27

Tanet wakes up to an empty bed. He looks around and is surprised to see Daw and Kla in his room. They are looking at him with a smile but he can sense slight tension on their faces.

Tanet: Kla, Daw, what are you doing here at this time and where is Veera?

Daw and Kla look at each other for a second and then at Tanet.

Kla: Boss is not here.

Tanet: Oh! Did he go for a meeting?

Kla: No. He.. He is not in Thailand.

Tanet: What?

Daw: Tanet, please listen to us patiently. Whatever we are going to say is for your own good.

Tanet looks at them with a blank expression.

Kla: Boss left the country with Rune and PSun. He didn't tell anyone where they are going or why. He just left a letter for his dad, me and you. Here, this is your letter. I hope this will make things clear for you.

Kla gives the letter to Tanet and exits the room along with Daw. Tanet opens the letter and reads it.

My dearest Tanet,

I know you are upset and angry with me for going away like this. But I didn't have a choice my love. I could not bear to see you live in fear like this. I had to do something to get you out of this fear.

Right now, I cannot tell you where I am going or what I am going to do but trust me, I will not come back until I resolve this issue. While I am away, I want you to take care of yourself and be brave. Kla and Daw will be there with you, to accompany you.

Just in case, I don't come back, please know that I love you. I love you so much my love that I want you to be happy and lead a good life.

One last thing, I have put something under your pillow that will always remind you that I am there with you, in your heart. I love you naa.

Tears are flowing down Tanet's eyes as he finish reading the letter. He keeps the letter aside and looks under the pillow. He finds a small blue velvet box. He opens the box and finds a chain with a heart shaped pendant in it. As he opened the pendant, he see his and Veera's photo in it. Tears escapes his eyes as he wear the pendant.

Daw and Kla enter the room after some time to find Tanet standing in the balcony staring outside.

Daw: Tanet

Tanet turns around and looks at Daw with tear filled eyes. Daw quickly walks towards him and hugs him tight.

Tanet: He will come back na?

Daw: Of course. He cannot live without you Tanet. He will come back for you.

Kla: Tanet

Tanet looks at Kla.

Kla: He hates to see you cry. So wipe your tears and put on a smile for him. He will be back for you, soon.

Tanet wipes his tears and smiles at Kla.

Kla: That's much better. Now you look like Veera's Tanet.

Tanet: Kla, why didn't you go with him?

Kla: Because he wanted to entrust you to someone he trusted. You are his most precious thing in this whole world and he has trusted me to keep you safe.

Tanet looks at Kla in shock.

Kla: Don't be shocked Tanet. Even when he thought you cheated on him, he could not bear to hate you but now when you are his, he will do everything to keep you safe.

A tear escapes Tanet's eyes but he quickly wipes it away.

Tanet: What should we do while he is away?

Kla: We will wait and keep ourselves safe until he decides to contact us.

Tanet: But Prem

A shiver runs through his body when he said that name.

Kla: Li Mansion is closed for all outsiders and the security has been doubled. No one who values his life will enter this mansion to touch you.

Tanet: Hmm

Kla: Tanet, get some sleep. I have some work to do. Daw, you stay here with him.

Daw: Okay.

Kla places a kiss on Daw's forehead and leaves the room.

Daw: Tanet

Tanet: Hmm

Daw: Are you okay?

Tanet: No. I miss him. I am afraid of losing him.

Daw: Hmm, I understand. Every time Kla leaves the room saying he has work, my breath stops thinking he may  not return. But this is his life and I chose to be with him. I guess I just need to learn to live with this fear.

Tanet: Hmm

Tanet and Daw sit there thinking about their boyfriends who are  busy playing a dangerous game outside.
