Leila's pov ~
I'm currently trying to not look at the many people I'm passing by. I'm in Florence Italy, it's beautiful mind you. I love it! It's just the weird looks from everyone because of my hijab.
My friend Maya who's next to me, is Muslim but doesn't wear one. Which is totally alright. I try to distract my mind but it's hard. "Should we eat?" Maya said.
"Yes! I'm starving!" I said rubbing my tummy. She giggled, "you're always hungry Leila! You never stop eating" how dare she insult me like that.
"Whatever...I love food okay!" I said glaring at her. She just laughed and rolled her eyes. We walked into a restaurant. It's pretty fancy! Damn!
"Should we go to vip?" Maya said while looking around. My eyes widen and slapped her shoulder playfully. "No Maya! I don't want to get in trouble! again!" I said
A tall beautiful lady came up to us.
"Hello, welcome to Italys finest restaurant, how may I help you ladies?" She spoke with such confidence.
"Me and my friend would like a table..please..." I said softly and she nods and leaded us to a very fancy table. We both sat down and she gave us menus.
"Are you ready to order?" She got her notepad ready. "Yes, could I get the Risotto Alla Milanese...Maya what do you want?"
I said and looked at Maya as she reads the menu.
"The ravioli please. Thanks." The lady nods and walked away smiling. I sigh and put my head down. Why must I get a headache on a very good day! "What's wrong Lelia?"
Maya said.
"Just a headache again.." I said calmly and she frowns at my response. "Again? It's stress..I'm telling you! You're parents are
Such—-" She didn't get to finish her sentence when the drinks came.
"Is that apple juice? Why's it fizzing?" I said immediately bringing my attention to it. "Yeah that's weird! I heard that could be snake venom" she said smirking. The person who brought the drinks already left.
"Maya have you tried this?" She nods at my question. "That explains the toxicity in you.." she gasps and her smirk falls. I laugh seeing her reaction
"Rude! Never mind that! Try it!" Maya said and I shake my head. No way am I trying some poison bubble— what if it's pee! EW!
Okay I'm dramatic.
"Wait...ya allah! Is it..alcohol?" I gasp as soon as I realized what it was. Maya gasps herself. "Ew you take it away!" Maya said pushing the two glasses to me. I rolled my eyes and get up.
I don't really have a choice do I? The fizzing looks so weird. Nah it's just me.
It does look like apple juice. What if I drank it? Will I go to hell?
Most likely I was already heading there. No no Leila you have to be positive you go heaven—- ouch!
I was so busy looking down at the drinks I didn't even realize I bumped into someone
The drinks fell from my hand. Smashing into tiny pieces. Oh my allah. What have I done. I look up and see the mans eyes widen. He's in a black suit.
"I'm so sorry!! I'm so sorry sir! I didn't mean to get the— drink on your outfit! I dearly apologize" I said feeling bad but he looked a bit mad.
"Are you dumb? My damn suit!" He said with anger. I furrow my eyebrows. "I'm just trying to say sorry" I said frowning.
"Well! It's not working" he said trying to take the stain off" I huff and cross my arms. "I said sorry I can't just pay for that—"
I was going to say something but he cut me off!!!
"Yes pay for it" he said looking at me crossing his arms. I glare at him.
"I will not!!" I said a bit louder gaining almost everyone's attention.
"Yes you will or else I will make you pay!" He said
What have I gotten myself into. "You're a meanie!" I said. My headache got worse. I don't even know why I'm tearing up. Ya allah get me to bed. With chips. And sprite. Ya.
"Pay—-" he didn't finish his sentence because I heard a deep voice behind me making me flinch.
"What happened Xander?" A low deep voice interrupted mr winy pants. I didn't turn around to face this man. His voice scared me enough. But I will not show fear. Nope I'm not turning around. I don't want to.
I don't know why. I just don't want to.
"B-boss! This lady— she spilled alcohol all over me- and she's starting a fight" the Xander dude said.
I was taken back by his little fib. (Lie) "hey! You can't lie! You're such a meanie! I said sorry so many times but you want me to pay for your suit which I may add I will not! It was an accident.." I said trying to defend myself.
"So what!!! You're still paying!" The Xander guy said making me huff and cross my arms over my chest.
"Xander enough. Go." The deep voice guy said behind me. I stick my tongue out at Xander dude and giggle to myself. I won!
Heheheheh! My victory didn't last because the mystery man was still behind me.
I turn around to meet with a broad chest. He's so tall I looked up. Shush I'm just short. Maybe I need more chips. Yeah that's it. Growing taller ideas? Eat more chips.
Yumsss!
He looks down at at me and we just stared at each other. For some reason his eyes went from dark and cold to soft and light.
He helped me.
I smile at him. "Leila!!!" Maya runs to me and hugged me. Took her long enough to realize I'm missing. What happens if I get kidnapped huh! Nah I won't.
She hugged me and I hug back. "Are you okay!!!" She yelled in my ear as she hugged me. I giggle and nod. "I'm okay Maya." I said she started dragging me away.
I looked back and see the pretty man still looking at me softly.
Leila you don't even know him and you just called him pretty! Stop! He's not even Muslim. Leila just stop.
